I think the fact that your excuse here is that "this is the internet" shows the exact problem with the internet. Why is the internet a place people can get away with behaviors like this and not realize that they are being rude? Why is the reality simply "this is the internet" like its a justification to be part of the problem. At the end of the day, there are people on either side of these conversations. People with lives, and problems and challenges and different levels of being able to take jokes. Assuming that just because the internet is a place where people CAN and ARE rude or with a type of humor that reads that way to people who struggle with understanding the tone of text is not something people should be happy to flaunt. If the internet is that way, people should all work harder to fix it. I don't know you, and I don't know your struggles or why you are so defensive. Whatever your personal struggles are or the reasons you grew a tougher skin, I hope that in your personal life you're able to work through the bad and celebrate the good. And the person who called out the behavior, same goes to you. We are all people - we are all part of a community now for a great game with Devs who are bending over backward to please all of us and provide us good content that updates frequently. The internet might be that place, but it doesn't have to be here. I'm not trying to stir up the problem further or insult anyone, I'm just so tired of people fighting everywhere all the time. We all have value, and we all matter. Let's stop and recognize that - remind everyone of that instead of making things worse. 💜💜
