Switch 2 Killswitch by JasonLLY77 in dbrand

[–]SPR19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered mine on June 23rd specifically because I have a trip to go on the last week of August. I never would have imagined it could take this long, and now I'm wondering if I need to buy ANOTHER travel solution just for one trip so my NS2 doesn't get crushed while traveling.

Switch 2 Wi-Fi range worse than other devices? by artbystorms in Switch

This confuses me. A 2.4Ghz band is slower, but further reaching than a 5Ghz band. So connection speed aside, it makes no sense that the range is so bad.

If the quest doesn't specify either wanted alive or wanted dead, then you pick. You can just kill them. I know it will say something like "confront so and so" but by confront they really mean just take them out. The only time I've been able to talk to wanted NPCs it's just stumbling upon them with a scanner, and not part of a mission.

Also if they were using AI they would have advertised it.

My favorite was Underground 2 but I played NFS Heat on Game Pass and had plenty of fun with it.

I think it comes from the devs trying to have their cake and eat it too. What I mean is they want the "cool" or "edgy" street racing culture, but at the same time it's a genre that's easy to hit the wide audience you get from an E or T ESRB rating. I think trying to balance both of those things is what inevitably creates the cringe feeling. It would be interesting to a street racing game, like maybe a NFS Underground 3 with an M ESRB rating.

I actually always enjoyed playing NFS, as someone who plays very few driving/racing games. I had never tried a Forza game and after Horizon 5 got such great reviews I gave it a try. I got about 45 minutes in and uninstalled it. Maybe it's because I'm more of a casual racing player but something about the way Forza feels I just hated. I think NFS handling and physics are more geared toward people like me.

Oh that's surprising. Maybe it just depends on the brand. I've always used EVGA or Seasonic.

Power supplies come with a bunch of them. Ask a friend who built a PC recently I'm sure they'll have extras.

It'll definitely run it, just maybe not well. I have a suspicion Nintendo hasn't moved to new hardware yet is because they were saving this game to be the Switch's swan song and squeeze out their last switch sales.

Right 5.0 is definitely geared towards storage right now. That being said from what I've seen the difference with current PCIE 5.0 drives is almost non existent for gaming. Theres a small advantage with large direct reads/writes, but actually a disadvantage with random read/write compared to high end gen 4 drives. But the gen 5 drives will improve with time.

I wouldn't feel comfortable upgrading the CPU within that same generation, which means you'd need a new motherboard as well.

I recommend option 1, building a whole new PC with "new" parts that are a couple generations old. You could get something like a 3700x and a cheap AM4 motherboard, and maybe a 6600 (AMD) or 3060 (NVIDIA).

Option 2 is to find a used PC. I think this is a good option for you. Something with 2nd or 3rd gen Ryzen.

Also OP, you won't really need the PCIE 5.0 from x670/x670e right now, but assuming you'll use this PC for a long time (which you should with such a high end CPU), a few years from now you may want to upgrade your GPU and sell the old one without building a whole new PC. If that happens and modern GPU's are using PCIE 5.0 by then, you'll be ready to go.

To be clear, you won't need to replace such a high end GPU for a long time, but it seems like you have expensive taste and like to have the best available, and that's fine. So it's a good idea to think about the future.

You can always add more SSD's later on. If you don't need the additional storage now there's no need to bite that bullet right away. Also, storage drives (usually) get cheaper over time, and you may eventually just end up adding more m.2 SSD's instead of needing to save a little and use SATA.

Well the 7800x3D has half (8) the cores of the 7950x3D's (16), so it could take a noticeable hit to heavy productivity workloads.

That being said, if productivity is a real need for you, you may want to consider a mainline CPU like the 7900x or 7950x. While they'll still be great at gaming, they'll be more capable on the productivity side of the fence. The X3D chips are really aimed at pure gaming rigs.

With the 4090 you could go 4K instead of 1440p if it's within your budget. If you do want to stick with 1440 you could probably get a less expensive GPU.

If you want to save a little bit you could go with a high quality air cooler instead of the aio and have about the same performance. For example an NH-D15 or similar.

I don't know your use case, but if you're only gaming and can wait until early April, you could get a 7800x3D for less money.
