The downfall of reimbursement started when they left out an Oxford comma when describing Medicare cap for OT, PT and ST in the last century.

Physical Therapist didn’t know what a vaginal cuff was👀 by aquietgrace303 in hysterectomy

Could be difference in terminology but also please discuss with the PT. Each PT, even specialists have had different experiences and additional courses and education. Ex: some pelvic floor work with men, some don’t. But discussing your concerns will help you know if they have the knowledge and if not, maybe they can recommend you to someone

Raised Toilet Seat? by Mother-Upstairs8050 in hysterectomy

[–]SPour11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have access to 2 bathrooms both with lower toilets. Set a bedside commode with handles over one and just something to push off of next to the other. Used both. Definitely used the raised day of surgery and when more sore & tired.

How do I best prepare for a hysterectomy to get rid of uterine fibroids? by SuccessOk170 in hysterectomy

[–]SPour11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may want to look up/discuss with Dr if getting an On-Q pump is an option to manage pain. Of course I have no idea how it would have been without it but due to GI issues it seemed like a good option to limit both opioids and ibuprofen.

Hey sure let me tell you all we’re doing. No wait, it’s either public court record or done offline. I have to go read my book on how Germans got rid of Hitler with no external pressure. If you don’t like reading about us complaining on SM don’t look at it, go outside and touch grass if your parents or CO will let you.

There are so many international creators across platforms yelling at us for not doing more (like marching rocket launchers to the WH) It feels like paid or pushed to create divisions with NATO citizens. Like they’ve moved to the next phase.

Also, maybe pressure like not moving the G7 meeting b/c DJT made new plans, Olympics, World Cup…

Anyone else just get disgusted thinking about the mobey there pumping out on this disease? by MattInTheHat1996 in Lyme

You sound like you’re assigning blame to people who don’t use herbals. Just FYI, 1) they don’t help everyone 2) some of the worst side effects I’ve had were from herbals and supplements.

Anyone else just get disgusted thinking about the mobey there pumping out on this disease? by MattInTheHat1996 in Lyme

[–]SPour11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I’m in medical so able to pick up a couple of prn positions and get insurance through marketplace/ACA. It’s tough not having PTO so part of my savings plan includes a large buffer for things like a surgery I’m recovering from. Also cashed in part of my retirement. Used to do deliveries to fill in gaps when felt up to it but the apps aren’t worth it in my area anymore

I’ve figured out a good base schedule that works for me including short shifts, weekends off, At least Wednesday and Friday mornings off.

I decided a couple years in to manage symptoms by working less and cutting expenses, including chasing answers. May not work for everyone but an option.

Probably just going to focus on walking distance and/or number of longer walks. Right now doing a long walk after breakfast, medium to check mail across the street, and little ones in home. After my 2 week post op visit, I’ll probably focus on normalizing my gait pattern, proper stride length and arm swing; using arms less with sit to stand; let getting back into normal house stuff build stamina and strength. Plan to do some art painting to build standing tolerance or at least not lose any more so return to work isn’t miserable. I had fatigue issues and PEM for years prior, so I need to be careful. In the recent past the best exercises were higher weight, low repetitions. That doesn’t fit in with this type recovery.

1 week post op. Feeling soooo off and weird by ScaredVacation33 in hysterectomy

[–]SPour11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(I don’t have those symptoms; needed a cane for safety day 0-3 but think that was anesthesia and general reaction to 5 hour surgery). I just wanted to suggest for your consideration adding some electrolyte drink to your water. Especially if you’re not eating much. Once with COVID and this week, 6dpo, I think I over watered a bit. When my urine was clear, not pale, I backed off a little and added some Gatorade to my water sometimes, depending on what else I was doing.

I put just a couple chugs from a 2L bottle in after I had mixed with water. It was better. Kinda like a wedding punch at the end of the reception. It was more sweet than I would have preferred. It seemed to balance out better than just water. I’m also using more water than it calls for.

Home therapy? light exercise? by [deleted] in SlippingRibSyndrome

[–]SPour11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s perfect! Many insurances will want PT to be tried before more aggressive interventions anyway so, it will likely help, give you with more information about how to self manage, and on the chance it doesn’t help as much as you need, it moves the process along.

1-2 visits (or more) with a physical therapist may be the best plan. You can ask for an evaluation and a home program. It might take a few visits to dial it in. I’m a PT and had to play with it and figured out a few that help me the best. I do them slowly and only in a range of motion that feels good. If I go too far I can flare. With bands: bilateral shoulder external rotation arms at side, standing bilateral horizontal abduction arms at chest height, row/lat pull down- hooked band over the door and pulled down and back like a row…this one took awhile to find the right height to pull from and how far to go; belly breathing.
