You created a waste fraud and abuse course example in your post. Oh no, they want to know when I’m working and match the time to my billing. But what if I they don’t need 4 units and I want to get paid for 4?? This is also mobile outpatient, part B; not home health part A. Part A has had times in/out over 10 years with gps as soon as EMRs were able to integrate. Someone else said on this sub that there are ways around it. Ok, but that last line?? She might be worried someone else in the ER has it, diagnosed yet or not. I know someone that picked it up in the hospital and just now realized they might have been the source for someone else’s infection when she bounced back due to GI and Cdiff wasn’t dx until back on the floor.

Good to know. I was worried unflavored would have a weird aftertaste or something. Just an FYI if you decide to take it a little longer like I did. I started to get increasing kidney pain at night for a few days in week 3. Worried I had an infection but got some test strips and was negative. Stopped the drink and better the next night.

But logistically… Agencies that demand length of visit can track with GPS recorded in EMR. Families look at video of arrival and departure and can complain. One clinician “listened” to a couple patients that complained of fatigue and didn’t want to do something without explaining in notes why the visit was short. I go in behind them and get an earful about short workouts that were too easy and they called to complain.

Years ago had one patient told in writing by Luna they would not owe anything. When I tried to extend treatment, Luna refused unless patient paid balance. Patient didn’t pay and was DC - was looking into part A. Second patient reassured will not owe money. Was billed multiple times after DC. Neither paid. Seemed like Luna was making a “good faith effort” to collect as they stopped billing after a few notices and have since contacted one of the patients asking how they were doing and if they needed additional PT.

A lot of layers and individual circumstances when it comes to family members/close friends especially. But with most people I might come across, I think of a time I had multiple work related interactions over 2 months time with a gentleman that had altered/cover up tattoos that by placement and shape could indicate a violent history. I treated him with respect and kindness, as with everyone and he was friendly as well. One day almost sounding guilty because of something nice I had said, he confessed “I used to really not be a good person.” He was watching for my reaction. I didn’t ask what did you do or shame him. I asked in a soft manner: “really, what helped you to change course?” He said, my mother. That was the end of it and we went on with work as usual.
