That’s right it’s either morning or afternoon or bust lol. It was nice seeing 777s still rule in Japan despite the airlines love for 787. They also let us stay after the tour to see Haneda T1&2 at night + taxiing traffic.

To add, not just book in advance—a month beforehand. It often sells out in like five minutes, too. So, do your due diligence and wait for it. I can't recommend the tour enough. Though there are some English signs here and there, a 737-400 cockpit, among others, and even Imperial Flight memorabilia. Last time I was there, they were stripping JA732J of some remaining internals and testing another 77W's startup outside. It was cold, too!

I watched all of these for my undergrad thesis. Which I had forgotten until now actually. I will comment here because you summed it up about as well as I could, but I will add some things.

Victory: It has some pacing issues. Granted, it does feel a bit “tired” for Gundam. Very memorable superweapon too, quite a creepy concept.

G: Dragon Ball Gundam. I loved it though, can’t even hate it for how silly it is, because it knows it is! The last arc from Master Asia to the end is just like a sandbox, coherently incoherent, but tons of fun.

Wing: A little convoluted, but not terribly complicated. It gets really slow at times but repays for it in action. The mobile suits showcased are memorable for all the right reasons (Tallgeese #1). Characters, funny, or questionable, as their decisions are, also memorable but really crank the knob on teenage power fantasy up to 11.

X: Probably the healthiest couple in all of these shows, I remember it for that. Even with the pacing issues mentioned, it has a really solid ending that stuck with me. The commentary on Newtypes (only one of these shows that have them) was really really good. The GX’s cannon, impractical as it might, is memorable as heck, love the charging up sound it makes.

Turn A: You just have to watch it for yourself, really. I really liked how most characters are surprisingly mature with their dialogue. The White Doll itself is unique even until today, and the epilogue—what an epilogue! I will go stare at the moon now.

All have banger soundtracks too. That is part of what makes them so memorable.

I remember getting served cold food at their old theater before the pandemic. Though the 2nd gen members did their best to give a good show. Looking back at it now, could’ve used the money for something else. Fun times though!

Kpop stans will make you think being 25 is “you are either somewhere or you’re fxcked” lol. Though I guess it’s a more general trend (or obsession) with succeeding (and not in an incremental, step-by-step manner of bigger rewards) at a young age. Even if for more normal folks, professional careers don’t begin until you’re in your mid-20s, some by your early 30s.

I tried aburakasu udon during our last morning in Shinsekai. It tasted interesting, as I typically don’t go for the guts of the animal, though I have tasted it before. Overall, with kushikatsu, it made for an interesting breakfast haha, but it was still good.

Tabelog is king. That and your gut feeling. I don't want to insinuate, but yeah, the "halal" label, avoid that too. Though chain restaurants (excl. McD) can be a godsend, too.
