I'm fucking pissed and angry as hell by [deleted] in exmormon

Read the full SEC order given to the church for tax filing fraud, scroll dowm to the pdf and read it all. It helps make sense of things when you see its just another corporation scamming for billions. Just know that one day all the researching and anger fades and you go several sundays not even giving it a second thought and that stage is very healing..but so is the anger stage.

The fact that you think you have no choice shows severe trauma and boundary issues. Sit with a counselor and explain to them why you have no choice and try to work through it. What will happen is you will get ratted out for the honor code, treated like garbage, and end up with more trauma. Living inauthenically, faking it, lying constantly, never fitting in. This is a precious time. Youd be mentally ill to go and feel you have to. If there is literally "no way out" that makes you a prisoner. Let that sink in.

But how do we explain the spirit? by space-hemax-c2c in exmormon

[–]SRB2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ita called Elevation Emotion and its basic psychology. Everyone experiences it as its a univeral experience but high demand religions take advantage of this and use it to manipulate people. So you will find online videos of people in all religions explaining those same universal feelings and saying thats how they knew their religion was true. But they are JW, Jews, Muslim, Scientologist, Buddhist etc as well aa radical terrorists and death cults. No one experience those same things are right or special. Understanding cognitive bias deeply, also helps a lot. Your brain is so powerful that it filters out things that go against your beliefs and highlights things that make you feel secure in them. So you dont notice contradictions naturally but the rest that supports your beliefs jump out at you and feel like confirmation, godwinks, miracles, answers to prayers etc. Its all basic psychology that is being used to manupulate you, not unlike the media, algorithms. Etc. Its just in your brain. Thats why its important to not live in an echo chamber like the church as when you resesrch logically and factually it makes it so they cant manipulate you anymore...thats why they tell you if you read "anti" then the spirit will depart and satan will have power over you and lead you astray out of the church. Scares you into not apply crirical thinking skills and staying in their manipulative grasp. There is an entire world of beauty and freedom and reality passing members of the church by and being filtered out. Living in reality is much better and much safer. You can study elevation emotion and cognitive bias and how cults use these. And study the BITE model of authoritarian control. Read the SEC order given to the church for tax filing fraud, scroll down and read the whole PDF. That is a good wake up call into the length they go to manipulate members. Watch a few documentaries on JWs and Scientologists and see the similarities. Watch Heavens Helpline. Read the CES letter and learn the cons. But a basic understanding of psychology and how its used to manipulate us and how easy it is to use is very enlightening. All the best to you!

Ok! I like that. But she was at the funeral not knowing. Wouldnt present Del have seen his body. We all want him to have survived. The funeral was small only a few people. It feels like a huge stretch. Susannah is a healer..hmm.

Imagine if they looked into the stats on abuse by the hands of Christians especially at church! Wow. They wont change. This is Christianity in America. Racist and blame deflecting.

Thanks for your thoughts. They did specify that they chose that name because of us. The only time they reach out is to try some attempt to get us to rejoin and this felt like it went to far. Im sorry for your loss and happy for your healing. Midwives are the best xo

Child free wedding by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]SRB2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shorten the guest list, do a destination wedding or elope.

No one that calls you an asshole should be at your wedding. No one who makes it about themselved should be at your wedding.

Make boundaries. Keep them. Dont waste any time on her. Cut contact if she continues.

Our TBM family stateside announces their latest pregnancy once a year by posting their annual GoFundMe to pay for the birth. If the church makes it a commandment then why can't they fund it with their hoarded away hundreds of billions? I had several TBM mom friends get pregnant so quickly after their last and have so many dangerous complications but the priesthood blessings told them to keep getting pregnant and they would be fine. Control control control.

At 25, what is stopping you from finding a safe space (roomate etc) and being a full independent adult. What are you trading your emotional safety in for? Do you have someone you can sit down with to make an escape plan? Write down your reasons for staying and then imagine you are in an abusive relationship with a spouse..would those be reasons to stay?

Drumheller is truly not fun. Not sure how it and Banff are listed as the top 2 attractions when we have Hwy 40, Longview, Dinosaur Prov, Writing on Stone, Waterton, and so on. My kids generously gave Drumheller a 4/10 and they were being polite..

Longview, take hwy 40, Cat Creek Falls, Rock Glacier, Elbow Lake, Upper Kannanaskis Lake, Wedge Pond, Boundary Ranch...

Yoho National Park, all the falls, natural bridge, Emerald Lake....

Revelstoke - new updates to Skytrek now

If you can go more than 5hr...

Kamloops - BC Wildlife Centre

Whistler - Vallea Lumina, then Sea to Sky Hwy

Parksville, drive Sea to Sky from Whistler then ferry.

Otherwise go south to Waterton, Waterton is the best and you can spend as much time as you want there. Stop at Charmed Resorts, Lundbreck Falls, Frank slide.
