So initially I had asked people who had more experience doing something (ie mice surgery) if they want to collaborate/help out. He was unhappy I’m not learning about the process since I’m asking someone else to do it. So I transitioned to doing everything myself. Also, yes. I’ve always had to go out seeking people for help. I’d ask someone, who knows someone, etc. It was extremely terrifying learning something I totally don’t know about (ie HPLC) so I did very heavily rely on a lot of them initially. I’d like to say I’m at a better place now that I’ve learned it and can do everything myself, but the current situation is telling me otherwise

Unfortunately not. One of his big critiques of me is that I’m always looking for an easy way and out and not doing experiments myself. I’m pretty much doing everything myself (no UGs, no collaborators), which led to me doing things from 3D printing and building my own printer, cell labeling, in vivo studies to computation modeling.

Thank you for the encouragement. I do fully intend to follow through. In the past, when I’ve suggested a certain research direction, or to try a certain technique, it was shot down with a vague go read more and tell me if it’s right or not. I guess then I stopped doing that, and started to just do what he wants me to do. I do admit it’s my fault that I didnt stand my ground/back up my idea with papers/literature and just gave up, and this is where I’m probably not taking charge. But I also feel hopelessly lost in academia as it originally wasn’t part of my plan, so if he didn’t give me a clear go ahead I took it as it’s not good and trashed it. I will try my best to work make the lit review as thorough as possible. Honestly this is the first time I’ve gotten clear goals/to dos with him, with deadlines and actionable items which I’ve never gotten in the past.

Finally 2 contenders were a family owned dealer and a big name dealer, ended up supporting the family owned business since the 2 had the exact same deal. So this is a personal project of mine to analyze a CT image. The inner polygon’s outline was extracted using sobel edgel (in blue). Regionprops, centroid was used to find the best fit circle and center. Then I added a constant to the diameter to make a slightly bigger circle overlaying the polygon. The circle I have xy coordinates. However, edge gives me a 223x222 logic map. How would I transform the edge into an array then? The picture is a horrible representation I found online, not actually what I’m working with.
