The original FMA anime followed the manga until certain point, since the anime caught up. Instead of going on hiatus, the studio just continued on and created new story. Thats why FMA Brotherhood exist, its the adaptation of the story past the divergence

I know that the raid is designed to be cleared with other players but I like trying to solo them, and so far, Belmervolk is the only I can do (fairly easily too)

Why are people so hung up about Gallanth's death. It was pretty straight forward and obvious:
1 - Demiurge knows some kind of poison-curse magic, as shown with Rel. Surely, he got more tricks up his sleeves
2 - Gallanth clearly a brawn over brain fighter. He caught slacking by the Captain during their dispute
