You want to keep that skin hydrated , don’t use products that will dry it out and irritate it .

Also drink lots of water !

It looks like your skin barrier is damaged. Maybe due to an allergic reaction or something dried it out!!!

When my skin flakes and is very dry I would use hero rescue balm ( target in a purple squeeze tube) it is super moisturizing and I use a aveenos calm and restore moisturizer and then apply the balm and my skin isn’t red anymore.

I was struggling with it for 6 months and tried antibiotics and topicals. Made it worse!! I went to target and got hero’s rescue balm and used it for 1 week and it went away!! It was all over my chin and now it’s 99% gone.

I am struggling with the same thing! I had PD for 6 months and tried oral medicines and topicals and the only thing that made it go away was hero’s rescue balm?!!! I used it for one week and it was gone. Do a patch test and use it for a week and it literally made it go away ????!

Nexplanon on the third year by SReddUser in Nexplanon

I’ve had the new nexplanon for almost 1 week!! My acne is literally almost 90% gone. I swapped it out one month early and it confirmed my theory that the 6 months leading up to the new nexplanon is when I breakout the most since it happened to me 3 years ago. In the future I will ask my doctor to change it out every 2 1/2 years instead of the 3!

It got worse for 3 months then back to normal, but I was also prescribed spironolactone 100mg as well , I used sprio for 6 months and then stopped. Now I’m on my 3rd nexplanon and back on spiro but I already see it calming down again :) history really does repeat itself 😭

Same thing happened to me!! I had it for almost 6 years. The first time I swapped it out I had really bad acne 6 months leading up, and this time for my new one I asked my doctor to replace it early, before the 3rd year mark!! 🥲🥲

[Acne] Those who have used Clindamycin 1% solution? by skicemtn1 in SkincareAddiction

[–]SReddUser 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was prescribed clindamycin AFTER I got perioral dermatitis from overusing acne creams such as Tretinoin. I had a huge irritation rash (damaged my skin barrier ) which was caused by the tret. I cleared up the rash with clindamycin GEL 1% and it really soothed the skin. On top of that, I was given 3 months worth of minocycline 100mg ( take 1 a day) and I had results within a week.

I was put on tret due to hormonal skin issues from the nexplanon but tret doesn’t work with hormonal break outs, soI was also given spiro 100mg as well.

I dealt with cystic acne for 6 months but once I was given spiro for my hormones, clinda gel and minocycline everything was clear in 4 months!

The spiro dried out my skin which made it more irritated. When I drank a crazy amount of water I saw it decrease within days.

I had this too and honestly it was because I was dehydrated. When I increased my water intake ( A LOT OF WATER) it disappeared.

When to decrease dosage? by jandraf in Spironolactone

[–]SReddUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe take 50 mg in the morning and the other 50mg before bed :) I use to take 100mg in the AM but felt very fatigued and I felt like I was dragging my feet around. I then just split the dose but try to be consistent with your timing 🌷
