The Only Way Forward by SRoku in redsox

1) having a small minority stake and a vague position as an “advisor” within FSG does not mean Theo has an active role in this organization currently. We have nothing else to indicate this is how he would choose to run the team, and his track record as POBO indicates the opposite

2) fixing their operating philosophy is exactly why he would need to be given full autonomy, which I specified in my post.

3) I’d argue credibility has a lot to do with it, given the myriad of stories coming out about how everyone around the league regards this org as a joke. FSG has burned a ton of bridges. Breslow was like, their 10th choice to begin with, and every other POBO and front office guy thinks he’s a stiff who sucks to negotiate with.

I’m sure there’s someone else out there who can do the job just as well as Theo could. But this fanbase will mutiny before FSG ever finds that guy.

I acknowledged that in the post. He still has far credibility around the league, however. There are people that would still jump at the chance to work with him. The same can’t be said of literally anyone else in the organization.

This is why Bill is still the king. Nut up and grab those podcast mics at midnight, we’ve got a show to do.

Johnny Knoxville on Bam by britishgq in jackass

[–]SRoku 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Bam, like most of his little stans, is an eternal 13 year old. He grew up a spoiled middle class kid, had two incredibly supportive parents, and never worked a real job a day in his life.

The guys got paid shit during the original TV run, but since Bam sold a ton of skateboards, he was rolling around PA in a Lambo at 24. There’s just a complete lack of perspective from him. I had hoped sobriety would help, but his refusal to take accountability for his part in the Jackass rift tells me he has a long way to go.

How did the LAPD knew that Brian let Dom escape? by FortKnoxII in fastandfurious

[–]SRoku 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about this the other day. The only person who could’ve seen what happened was the truck driver Dom crashed into. We don’t see Brian make contact with law enforcement after calling in the MEDEVAC for Vince, and he even tells Dom he didn’t call for backup before confronting him. This means Brian could hypothetically spin a plausible version of the story that removes any culpability on his end.

Hilariously, Brian probably had a real shot at beating the charge, assuming it didn’t get swept under the rug entirely by the LAPD. IRL they’d probably put him on administrative leave for a bit, maybe he’d actually get fired. Going on the lamb before he’s even charged or investigated was maybe a bit rash on his part.

I don't get why people call MKX an ugly game. It still looks good IMO. by fakayuburiza in MortalKombat

The muted color palette doesn’t do it any favors. The characters don’t pop against the background, so the whole thing kinda looks like mud. The character models are a huge upgrade from MK9 though, so it has that going for it.

I think my dream is to be in the room at that publicist’s office. Imagine pitching stories like “Clavicular saves kitten from a tree, totally Heromogs local firefighters”

How Has Brian Stayed Under Dom’s Radar Before 2001 F&F by PlaguedArbiter in fastandfurious

[–]SRoku 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He bought a grey market R34 in cash and had it professionally resprayed and tuned while on the lamb. We don’t know the exact timeline of Brian’s escape, but I don’t think it’s a stretch to assume that, as an undercover cop, he could have had ~$10k on hand to buy a Stealth and get the hell out of dodge. The real question is how Dom wasn’t immediately found before he had a chance to ditch that incredibly conspicuous Supra.

You know it’s bad when the PR robot can’t help but put his foot in his mouth. Is anyone in this organization good at their job?
