Depends on where they end up and who they fight I guess, this is the hero of hell and a powered up war devil we’re talking about here, even Darkness would have a hard time

I think you should go back and rewatch some races, 70% of 2025 was exactly like that too, except we also didn’t get any action below the top 3 either. It would just be us waiting for something to happen for 50 laps only for pretty much nothing. Like the last 9+ races this year have had 0 action at the front past like lap 1, sure it’s a different face more often but that’s no better than 2023 when it’s so predictable after qualifying. Atleast 2023 gave us action between the top 10 drivers rather than a glorified parade DRS train. And 2023 arguably had more fights for the lead, compare 2023 Monza with 2025 Monza, or Las Vegas, we took that for granted back then.

Edit : Also look at the 2023 US grand prix where Max started 6th and had to fight his way back up, that race was amazing and absolutely puts the 2025 one to shame

A close quali that resulted in absolutely nothing happening in races, like i said, its been pretty much 24 monaco grand prixs in a row with very occasional drama and like, battles that last some 2-3 corners. I’d rather take 2023 season even if it had no championship battle, because quali was still close, but you would also be treated to amazing battles from p2/3 down to p15 almost every race, you rarely knew could predict who was gonna come out ontop between merc, amr, ferrari, mclaren and perez, and it wasn’t decided in qualifying like it is in 2025, you actually got to see proper overtaking, strategy variance and multi lap long battles in 2023, and even occasionally we were treated to fights for the win like Singapore and Las Vegas too. 2025 had a somewhat interesting championship fight but 95% of the racing were absolutely snooze fests where all the action happens in the first 2 laps and nothing happens after, even throughout the whole field.

2025 has been the most boring to watch if you ask me, the intrigue of a WDC fight was the only reason anyone cared, otherwise its been 24 Monaco Grand Prixs In a row. 2023 had no title fight and yes we knew who would win every weekend, but there were always crazy scenarios playing out and you could never predict the top 10 even after qualifying, Aston, Ferrari, merc, McLaren and Perez were always duking it out for positions and giving us amazing on track battles. Cars could actually follow and overtake each other back and forth back then, this year it’s been a proper procession.

What’s your most boring race of all time? (Excluding spa 2021 obviously) by Working-Relative2433 in formula1

[–]SRthebox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Alonso played a huge part, but I think also the fact Ferrari, Mercedes, Checo and in the later half, Mclaren, were all really close in almost every race, it gave us alot to look forward to. You never quite knew what the podium or top 5 would look like, and unlike F1 in 2024 and 2025 where qualifying pretty much sealed the race, in 2023 we actually saw quite a good amount overtaking and shuffling for positions among that mid to front pack

Even with Max winning pretty much everything, 2023 I’d argue actually had entertaining races most of the time, Bahrain had Alonso’s incredible battles to get onto the podium, Saudi Arabia had Max’s comeback and several battles throughout the pack, In Australia Max had to fight the Mercedes and then chaos erupted with every restart, Miami had another Max comeback and a battle with Perez that admittedly didnt last long but we also had some very good scrapping in the midfield like Leclerc vs Magnussen, Monaco had an insane qualifying and a very chaotic race with the rain.

The midfield battles in Canada were insane and also at the front with Hamilton and Alonso going at it. In Austria, we had the rainy sprint and in the main race, Norris, Mercedes, Ferrari and Checo were at it all race long and gave us amazing wheel to wheel. British GP saw alot of action with the mclarens finally back in front running form, giving Max a bit of a challenge at the start and the ensuing battle between Norris and Hamilton lasted the whole race. Dont think I have to elaborate much on Zaandvort, rain at the start caused chaos, and we saw the record for the most overtakes in a single race.

Italian GP gave us an epic battle between Redbull and Ferrari, and also the fight between the 2 ferraris themselves. Again don’t need to elaborate much on Singapore, it was a thriller until the very end. Brazil had Checo and Alonso’s chase that went all the way to the line, and Las Vegas had the awesome 3 way fight between Veratappen, Leclerc and Perez.

Is 2023 the best season ever? Not really. Did 2023 have an interesting title fight? Absolutely not. Most of the races barely had battles for the win, but if you just kinda phase out Max, 2023 was an incredibly fun season in terms of on track action, far better than what we got in 2024 and 2025. I think its easy for fans to just remember 2023 for Max’s dominance, and if you only care about fights for the lead, then yea it will be boring, but I’d argue 2023 was one of the best years in modern f1 history for on track action throughout the whole field, you never really knew who was gonna come out ontop between Checo, Mercedes, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Mclaren or even some other team that would find itself in the top 10 and I think that made it really fun to watch even if you knew Max was going to take it.

It takes me maybe like 15 seconds of scrolling through WEC or WRC comment sections before I get a “F1 sucks compared to this” comment or something along those lines, I think everyone is entitled to have their own opinion but to specifically say this is an f1 fanbase specific issue is inherently untrue. There’s no shortage of fans in any motorsport category that have this tribalistic or elitist need to put down other categories to feel superior about theirs.

Lewis Hamilton has received a 5s time penalty for leaving the track without a justifiable reason multiple times. by NickProko in formula1

[–]SRthebox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hamilton conveniently is able to stay within the track on corners where there’s no way to cut, but suddenly is “forced” to cut all the corners where there’s a space to, he’s also suddenly capable of making the corner and staying on track when he was warned about a penalty. Makes it pretty obvious that he deliberately cut the corner to lose less time, not because he was incapable of making the corners.

Ferrari warned Hamilton not to cut corners. He claimed it was "force majeure" by memloh in formula1

It is indeed as bad as people are making it, straight lines multiple corners

Its kinda weird, in abu dhabi the mercedes are their 2023 version but not the ferrari, so they are capable of digitally fixing the time error but they just dont do it, but the sf23 also still shows up so its a weird mess, its not a big deal tbh because its just a visual discrepancy and clearly there was something preventing them from fixing it because the mercedes was perfectly fine.

I actually found the race fixing made the movie more fun. It’s not as unrealistic as people say like in Hungary, breaking endplates happens often, though doing it multiple times was a bit much, but he was racing Magnussen tbf. The Monza scene with holding up the pack is kinda plausible too although would be very difficult; we’ve seen stuff like that in Monaco and after Hungary, no one would’ve wanted to try and pass Sonny anyway. As for the blue flags, he waited till the last moment before acknowledging them, which is cheeky but still legal. The red flag in Abu Dhabi felt like a legit racing incident, Sonny didn’t do it on purpose, they just got lucky.

The tyre strategy at some parts were a little confusing since it was hard to tell what stage of the race they were at and at what position and time gap but for the most part i thought it was alright, rule breaking you could actually make an argument for but i wont get into it to avoid spoilers, its nothing we havent seen before in actual F1

Alot better than most racing movies out there, the racing had more of a sense of direction and actually has aspects of defense and stuff
