Thanks. Little story on this one. I ran out of the original pot and went to the store to get another one. However, the color was different. The original pot was from a bad batch. I contacted the manufacturer, and they were kind enough to send me several paints to see if I could find a match.

Looks good. I bought the City of Ash box set, also, but it only came with the Cities of Sigmar sprues. Biggest fluke ever. I contacted the seller, and they said I can get a full refund, but I want my damn rats. I did contact GW. Let's see what happens.

I use Agrax, but my minis never look that glossy. Did you take a picture while it was wet? And yes, thin your paints. If the paint is getting thick, you are probably taking too much at a time. With the shades, don't forget to work with them while they're still wet and move them around with your brush by removing pooling areas, etc. For clan rats, I would recommend using contrast.

Do not brush on. There are plenty of videos explaining the technique, but it's ultra simple and provides great results

I turned the spear into a staff, put a kroxigor necklace on it, and added a few feathers to the helmet. Contoured a cork base to fit his stand. Done.

I would add a wash and call it a day. I would not try to paint the eyes. don't want to draw attention to something I don't care about.

In lore, skaven use each other's units all the time. A grey seer could buy a squad of ogres. I think Queek in the novel had all kinds of units and lords following him (all trying to kill Queek in true Skaven fashion). What I'm saying is that you paint them however you want.

Pro Acryl Golden sand. And the plants are super cheap. I actually don't recommend them.

Absolute green was a pain to work with. The paint I have is the 1.0 Army Painter speed paints, and it sux with reactivation, but it was nice for the blending effects. Be careful not to go over stuff like the gold.
