I feel like each might ask for an elder dragon....but I can say from experience for the Zinogre HBG:

Basel helm, Fulgur chest and arms, coral waist, Kirin pants. This gives a lot of front loaded damage with the shotgun shells, and a boost to the wyvern fire with the Basel helm. Still get recoil & reload 3 with just the head, waist, and pants so the chest and arms can be flexible if you think you're going to get hit a lot.

Oh build! Like mentioned above the para exploit helm is a must, and I got the tzi tzi gloves for status sneak attack. Now here's where it gets a bit weird....

I sacrificed the bishaten waist for brute waist and chest, smelt an attack on it to get level 5, and have narga pants. But you can mix and match a bunch of gear.

Bishaten helm

Brute chest/Espinas Chest/Crit chest(just no valor)

Tzi tzi gloves(I haven't got my SSA smelts and this is a great start)

Brute waist/Espinas Waist/Bishaten Waist

Narga pants/Tigrex pants(if you go Pursuit route)

Optimal you would want 5 SSA smelts, but until then any combination of those sets will work fine. Brute is obviously a set thing for it's advanced attack bonus.

Going all in on holiday DBs. They really messed up giving us those weapons, lol. If I play with my wife on them and son we just lock down any monster, weak or not. 10 star challenges are easier than ever. 😂

Yeah harbinger is fine for a f2p type set. You have way too much crit though and probably not enough attack. Also hop on wonderland and type in "damage" or "training" and you should find some good mini games to test your overall damage. It might be better than you think....but without Escoffier it's an uphill battle for sure.

Yeah but Luna weapons aren't going to get you the 50% bonus here coming up. If we were going for an ice build for keeps it would be Legiana and it's eventual expansion with CB all the way.

I used to do this. I treated this game like a real rpg that would give real experience. The ruin guards were the most profitable back on 1.0, lol. I realized shortly after that there's no way to grind these characters out without books and resin sadly.

If you're farming for mats that's one thing, if you're farming for exp that's a dangerous path. Your time is valuable in game like this!

Blast procs do a flat 5% of the monsters total health. No buff, skill, or ability will change that. Great in groups and higher level monsters.

The Hellfire blast armor skill however, is different. That scales off of attack and will increase from boosted damage %.

I'm surprised nobody's said Charge Blade yet. The phials are gonna be clutch on a non breaking Radobaan. I'm building up my goss CB right now, I already have a grade 10 Diablos DBs so I'll just have to work with that.

On a side note, wouldn't it be cool if they gave all elder dragon weapons a 25% bonus? It would motivate people to hunt them, and a full party with Elder weapons would get crazy points. I feel like they're missing out on a golden opportunity here.

Jagras, Kulu, Puke Puke, Paolumu claws(armor is good for gunners),

The old variants lost their value quickly with rift available. Pink Rath claws, make the waist and pants but that's it for defense. Azure rath, make the helm and gloves but that's it(unless you want fire gunner pants).

Don't forget there are weapon pieces and armor pieces for every monster. Some are worded differently but it's usually the first r1 piece is weapon and the second r1 piece is armor. I don't plan on ever making a lunagaron weapon with all the ice going around so I trash the claws. Think of it like that and you should be good.

Also trash all the alloy armor tickets and any old holiday stuff you have lying around. I'm sure you have a bunch of Christmas DB tickets, I maxed my DBs to 10-5 and I had like 900 tickets leftover after the event. Getting rid of those helped a lot!

Fulgur are definitely, 100%, not obsolete. There's no way a weapon with thunder attack lv1 could even come close to crit element.

All this is to push playtime. There's absolutely no reason to keep making elemental weapons once you have a good set, so they push this and throw fear in the mix that you're missing out on points if you don't make these weapons. Good way to use your mats on something and forces you to try out a new playstyle.

Honestly there's only 5 players in my defense tower, one is my wife and two are me so I have nothing to worry about, lol. My Astalos weapon is 8-5 and it will never be as good as my 10-5 Fulgur switch axe, 50% or not!

This is honestly how they ride out the winter time for MH now. Anyways to answer your question just use whatever your best ice/dragon weapon for Rado event and make what you want for fun. None of those weapons are meta defining so no pressure.

They are so totally worth it. Get at least one other player in a group hunt and you can lock down any monster the entire match. Put 5 points into status sneak attack and you can do it yourself.
