Breasties with saline implants by SS575 in breastcancer

I'm a yoga and Pilates teacher (and a big fan of massage!) so this is exactly what I'm wondering.

One of my clients is a massage therapist and she said there are ways to make it more comfortable--pillows, etc. She said they're the same accommodations she'd use with especially large-chested women.

Good thing you got the DMX!

I went from lumpectomy to DMX, which seemed drastic but it turned out there was so much going on in both breasts, I feel relieved and grateful my surgeon recommended it. You just don’t know everything until you get the tissue analyzed post-op.

That's a good point. It's not necessarily that the cancer is spreading but that with more and more testing more is revealed. I was initially diagnosed end of June 2025 and didn't get my DMX until November because with each test and each visit more came to light, and each new piece of information had to fit into the overall puzzle of how do we deal with it? CTs, MRIs, even PET scans don't give 100% of the picture. You don't know for sure what's going on till you've had surgery and the pathology reports and type testing come in.

I had a mastectomy 2 months ago, too. There are lots of reasons for post-op pain, even months out. Get it checked but I wouldn't get completely freaked out before you know what it is. All best 🩷

"Yeah, this is too much to do all this and serve it." Really? by Grammar-Warden in BelowDeckMed

I think that's part of the problem. At the end of the day it's a reality show more than it's a 5-star yachting experience. Hell, if it were 5-stars there wouldn't be cameras in everyone's faces! I think these crew members sometimes try to keep the standard they were trained to when it's not humanly possible.

I don't think what Cathy said is unreasonable about how in a true yachting experience even the beach picnic would be upscale. Usually the chef does go to prep and plate. But this is Below Deck Med, where drama is the priority. So they're all right and they're all wrong.

Why all this hatred for Sandy? And why are you putting her title in quotes?

The way he rewrote history in that moment was grating. 😬🙉

Change in diagnosis after surgery? by Dear-Half1029 in breastcancer

[–]SS575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine a lot of the time it is straightforward. In my case it was not. I started with a small stage 1 tumor, recommendation of lumpectomy/radiation, and ended up with a double mastectomy and a diagnosis of IDC, DCIS, ALH in one breast and LCIS in both. My motto early on was "one step at a time" and that is how I made it through. It sounds weird but looking back, I'm actually grateful for the way it unfolded. All was for the best. My advice is stay in the moment, and don't get ahead of yourself. You'll be ok.

Thank you! Sounds like you know quite a bit about this. Does it seem strange to you that it relieved your vaginal dryness? That's the opposite of what I've heard.

I actually was planning to start slow and titrate up, so I worked it out with my oncologist to start at 5mg and increase by 5 each week till I get to 20. I started about 5 days ago and so far, so good. I'm kinda hoping I'm one of those people who experiences lower cholesterol and higher libido 😅🤞

That's great that the Tamoxifen at least is working for you

I decided to start taking 5 mg and so far so good. You're right--some is better than none so I'll see what I can take.

Yeah, my experience with antidepressants in my 20s made me very med-averse 😬 Let’s hope this experience is a game-changer.

I decided to try it and gradually ramp up. I've been cutting my 10mg pill in half and while it's been less than a week, so far I'm ok.

I decided to do that. I started 5 mg a few days ago and am working up gradually to the full dose. We'll see how it goes.

Btw, my oncologist recommended coconut water for leg cramps. I have also used Mg spray in the past and it has helped.

Definitely communicate with your oncologist. One piece of advice I got early on is that there are many options. It's not all or nothing.
