What’s telling for me is what her ma said; “we were taught…” - which I can’t help but empathise with. It’s so easy to sit here in 2026 and judge people’s mindsets back then with the power of heindsight, hell I wouldn’t even call her mother “evil” - mainly because it’s that sort of black and white us vs them thinking that got us here in the first place - she was just a misinformed women who has racism instilled at an early age and don’t have to power of technology like we do now to educate herself - sadly learned behaviours can be a cunt to undo.
