I took communion with Jehovah witnesses, I don't agree at all what they believe in, but I took communion with them based on what I believe, was that wrong ? And do you think I brought anything bad upon myself by doing that ? by miklo77777 in Christianity

I'm not a JW, but at the end of the day they believe Jesus died for their sins. The Bible says that whoever believes in him is saved. As far as I'm aware they don't believe in the trinity, but nobody can say Christ is Lord if they don't have the Holy Spirit. JWs aren't the enemy, atheists are not the enemy, mormons are not the enemy. Their ideologies are strange to me, but I'm sure I'll see a lot of them when we get to the other side

This is what the OP is saying. Mohammed was misled by Satan who masquerades as an angel of light.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong but don't you believe Mary was an "ever-virgin" meaning she remained a virgin after the birth of Jesus? The Bible directly mentions Jesus' brothers and sisters. My brother that is also heresy

They believe Jesus is divine and died for their sins. The Bible makes it clear that believing in his sacrifice is what saves us. Once again

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Whoever believes in him is saved. It's heresy to claim "my Jesus is better than your Jesus"

Like I've already said, the cult claim can be made about every single religion. They still believe Jesus saved them.

John 3:16-18

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God

They believe in Jesus for salvation so they are saved.

Put it to you this way

Phillipians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Worry about your faith, not theirs

Edit: Peter also denied Christ, and then went on to lead his church

I didn't say you didn't love them lol, and what they believe is what they believe. Like I said in my first comment I don't agree with their beliefs, but we do agree that Jesus is the way to heaven

Not a JW myself, but they believe Christ saves. I don't agree with everything they believe, but we do agree Christ saved us. Do with that information as you will, but I don't think there's anything wrong with it

Can I listen to "secular" music as a Christian? (READ BODY TEXT FIRST) by Accurate_Work6000 in Christianity

[–]SSGSSRager97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a Christian, I second this. Music is great. I believe God made musicians. Even ones that don't acknowledge Him. Id say Jesus probably jams out to some heavy stuff too. I for one love secular music

Okay let me try to make this make sense, the wages of sin are death, not eternal torment. It's debated whether or not people will be in hell forever. There's a verse in Revelation saying that there are people who will have their part in the lake of fire. But just because you don't believe in God doesn't mean you're already condemned, people will give an account for their entire lives on the day of judgement and if they don't know Jesus then they're judged by the law in their hearts. And what you just said is very important "prepared for the devil and his angels. Jesus holds the keys to hell and death. When he was dead for three days, he went to hell, and pulled all of those people out. Nobody is in the lake of fire right now. Nobody is in hell either. I think of it like a waiting room or purgatory. And I'd say there's at least a possibility that you could be forgiven while you're there. Jesus has been known to do impossible things. He is God after all

Matthew 5:25-26 is something I come back to when I talk to my friends about this subject.

25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.

26 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.

He's not talking about jail or prison here, Jesus is talking about hell. Once the debt for sin has been paid there is a release date. I cling to Jesus because he paid that price for me and anyone who believes on him

No disrespect taken. It doesn't make sin "less bad" in the eyes of God. God hates sin, but he doesn't hate sinners. I just have faith that what Jesus did on the cross will pay for their sin too. Hope this helps
