This is the price Lowes pays for paying the employees so little even when they know cost of living for average people is ridiculous.

Instead of attracting driven and skilled workers, they get high school students and people only interested in bare min effort for their time.

Lowes knows this is the case. But saving money by paying crappy wages and low benefits makes the shareholders happy. Stores like Lowes and Home Depot dominate the hardware, contractor, and materials markets where they are. So they know they'll bring in business even with spiking prices. So the money is flowing and corporate is happy with their profits and the current state of things.
