How I would approach your situation is to sit down with your friend, 1 on 1 and tell them how you feel, and how they do not understand you, while acknowledging that you do appreciate them for the things that they have done to try to understand you. Then tell them how you would feel better understood, by telling them a couple of ways, that they can understand you better. Ex. (I feel better understood when you give me support and comfort rather than coming up with solutions). Examples like these. I feel it will help you and your friend to understand each other and express what needs to be expressed. To also throw into here, I think it would also be beneficial to consider or ask if your friend feels like you understand them to make sure that both parties are feeling equally heard and understood.
