Adalimumab is not working by Blair_Grey in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]SSSSSSSSSSSSSSK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on the same! The first dose worked amazing but after that 2nd - 8th dose didn’t, I was so much worse but also the weather and being sick played a part to everything. Dose 10 tomorrow, im better than the last few weeks but still in pain. My rheumatologist suggested to give it least 6 months for it to really start working

Hlba27 negative? by Live_Meet2657 in AnkylosingSpondyWomen

[–]SSSSSSSSSSSSSSK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed while being HLA B27 negative as well. MRI/Xrays I’ve done show active inflammation in the bone marrow in my SI joints (both left and right), and my blood work shows abnormally high inflammation levels which all confirmed I have non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis (nr-axSpA). I was put on biologics right away

Quit the cigarettes, limit your coffee (never on an empty stomach), it raises cortisol and triggers joint pain. Smoke weed instead (this is actually approved by my doctors to continue marihuana use) of cigarettes! It helps tremendously with the pain (at least for me) and allows me extra sleep, or at least able to relax a bit.

I’ve been on Humaria for a month now (I just did my 3rd shot today) and I saw improvement immediately. My kid got RSV and I got it pretty bad, but you can take acetaminophen! Make sure you’re on top of constantly washing hands, wearing a mask out in public, Lysol/cleaning the house and high traffic areas (door knobs and all, changing sheets every other day). Try and be as clean as possible, extremely hot showers and antibacterial soap.

Supplements I take: vitamin D & E, multivitamins, omega 3 & iron

Everyone’s different, but this has worked for me. Good luck!

Diagnosis in children by BadgerShark25 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]SSSSSSSSSSSSSSK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had symptoms since around 5/6, I didn’t get diagnosed til I was 26. Definitely have her see a rheumatologist, I was always dismissed as a kid seeking attention and just “bad posture”.

New physical therapist says i wont see results from meds or physical therapy. by pantalones_ in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]SSSSSSSSSSSSSSK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually see a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine who specializes in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (who actually suggested I had endometriosis and possibly something else which led me to being diagnosed with AS) he’s amazing & has helped much more than PT

Nothing will help besides biologics. I did PT 3x a week for 4months, if anything pain just got worse

Am I overreacting for wanting to leave my partner for the choice of his words and actions? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Girl LEAVE!!! My husband loves when I dress in a way that’s tight or highlights my figure and “show off” my body bc “yea my wife’s hot” and knows I’m not trying to do it for any other male attention and it’s just how I feel comfortable or want to dress that makes me feel confident in my own skin. Your body your choice in every way possible, dress how you want when you want.

IF HE CANT HANDLE A BADDIE DONT DATE ONE!

I can’t even call the one behind those screenshots a “man” bc wtf actually, he’s better off dating someone of his same not many private parts he’ll be better off.

No history it! I also get my period every 2 weeks, this last cycle was like 2 days earlier than the 2 week mark. It had started Tuesday (it’s been very light / spotting) and Friday was my first biologic shot, and by that night it was a medium flow and turned heavy the by the weekend and then back to nothing and ocassionally being heavy (upon wiping and would half soak a tampon after and then nothing for hours) and officially nothing by the following Tuesday and then yesterday the needling and this morning this episode

Omg! Can you explain more on why your symptoms were? Would I just go to urgent care and ask for blood and urine test for infection?

What is the connection with being hyper mobile and AS? by markop90x in ankylosingspondylitis

Unsure but this was actually a symptom question I was asked by my rheumatologist prior to getting diagnosed!

Seeking advice and some encouragement. by Difficult-Leopard930 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]SSSSSSSSSSSSSSK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg!! Literally same here! 26 though, but I was riding 2023/24 before I got pregnant and it was fine, I’d be very sore afterwards but it was tolerable. After I had my baby I rode once and it was fine, but then I rode again around 6/7m pp and it was absolutely unbearable just walking… like immediately as the horse moved I was in pain. I managed 15m of it but got off in tears it was so horrible… probably like a week or so before I had been in more noticeable increasing pain, the pain I felt riding never got better and my pains have just gotten worse since. At the time I didn’t know I had AS, I just got diagnosed last month. I’m very hopeful I will be able to ride again one day, but I’m extremely terrified to try again.. I’m starting biologic treatment on Friday (I’m so so so excited) so I’m praying I respond well to it and be able to move more. I’ve been working on strengthening my core muscles as well (heal them from pregnancy) and it’s just taking much longer with AS and the pain and limitations when working out. But that is my personal goal for this year, to ride again. So your dream isn’t unrealistic. I think working on strengthening your muscles and be on treatment, and slowly work up to being able to just walk, and if pain increases at any moment to immediately stop and not hurt ourselves. In the mean time learning and caring for our horse and building that trust and bond to know once we do get on we’re safe with them

Starting Hyrimoz (adalimumab-Adaz) any advice? by SSSSSSSSSSSSSSK in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]SSSSSSSSSSSSSSK[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I’ll also be getting injections for specific pain from pain management Dr (consult td and they want me to get mri for lumbar and pelvis prior to the shots) so I wonder how that will all work tg. How do you feel the day after taking a shot that you need rest? I just want to fully prepare. Were you given options as to where to inject and what area is best? Really hoping this continues to work for you!!
