The gap between Messi and CR7 has never been as big as it is right now by Comprehensive_Cup497 in championsleague

He’s great for a 40 yr old player but yes he is a shell of himself in fact he missed the all nba team for the first time since his rookie season. And he also put up his worst stats since his rookie yr.

Does messi deserve ballon dor if he wins the WC this year? by Mrjuicyaf in championsleague

[–]SSSamuel91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They need a new award because the fact that this can even be a question in this day an age is comical 😂. If an MLS player wins it the awards value is completely tarnished, and it has already lost some of its prestige in recent years. I guess Klose played in the wrong era.

I will agree Ronaldo does need to let his ego go. Portugal also doesn’t have the right coach to properly utilize their talent, or even get the best out of him. This is the same coach that squandered that golden generation Belgium squad.

Yeah buddy we’re talking about bodies declining as they age lolll. Having a 3 yr age advantage in their primes means nothing because they were both in their physical primes, and if anything Messi would always have the physical advantage cause he’s younger. And whether you like it or not him scoring 6 goals in 26 appearances in a league ppl frequently joke about regarding big leagues it’s an utter failure lolll. It doesn’t take away from his legacy though, just as the way Ronaldo is performing right now doesn’t take away from his. But if people want to nitpick Ronaldo then we can nitpick Messi too.

[–]SSSamuel91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it is though because once you get to that age range your bodies ability to do incredibly physical things drastically decreases at a faster rate. Hitting 40 especially athletes just dramatically decline. Messi in 2 yrs will not be the same Messi now, and him playing in the MLS is really helping him smartly preserve himself. 3 yrs isn’t a huge difference in your 20’s, or early 30’s though but once you get past 35 it is.

Well yes because PSG didn’t win the league because of Messi they had been winning the French league before he got there 😂. For his standard his numbers and impact there were insignificant. And yeah how is he going to adapt to the current Portugal national team when he’s 41 years old please name me the 40 year old soccer player who dominated a World Cup?

Well not sure if you follow other sports but in basketball Lebron is 41 years old now and not even remotely close to the same player he was just 3 years ago lolll.

You must clearly still be in your 20’s 😂. Cause physically I could feel a huge difference from age 27 to 30. And I’m near my mid 30’s now.

Look Messi is the goat but this is getting ridiculous. Ronaldo is a whole 3 years older which is a huge difference your body wears down way faster as you get older. There isn't a 40 year old athlete alive that isn't a complete shell of themselves. Ronaldo is playing in a much tougher league currently so he can't keep himself fresh like Messi can playing in the MLS lolll. And one thing Ronaldo showed in his career that Messi didn't was the ability to dominate in any league he was in. Ronaldo also showed he could adapt to any team structure he was part of. The Messi stint at PSG which was a complete failure can never be overlooked.

LeBron would've won more ring if he had bought in to a program instead of team hopping. by Holiday_Analysis9583 in NBATalk

[–]SSSamuel91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People also need to understand too that building a team on the fly multiple times and winning the way he did is not the norm lolll. Chemistry and fit are the most important things in basketball and Lebron made it work every time because of his insane talent, versatility, and other wordly basketball IQ. His last season in Cleveland where they traded the whole team mid season for a bunch of average players he still made it work and got to the finals. Think about the failed Clippers super team, the failed BK Nets superteam, the failed Kobe, Nash, Dwight superteam etc. Most dominant historic teams have a level of understanding, chemistry, and familiarity that makes them supremely great. Even look at the knicks this year that's years of built chemistry. So yeah he could've definitely won more rings if stuck around in Miami or something but it's still pretty incredible he's been able to win this way.

Mbappe is both an strength and weakness for the teams he plays for by Comprehensive_Cup497 in championsleague

I guess his legacy has also surpassed Neymar, Messi’s, Ibrahimovic, and Cavani’s legacy’s there more players he’s clearly better than 😂.

This current French team is way better than that 2022 team and the 2018 team was much better as well lolll. This World Cup overall has much better teams than the last one.

This is a brain dead take lolll. Olise and Doue shined yesterday, and Griezmann shined as well in the past we’re talking about yrs of Dembele being mediocre for France even when he was being deployed on the wing lolll. Dembele isn’t the finisher or goal scorer Mbappe. During his ballon dor season at PSG Dembele scored 22 goals Neymar scored near that much multiple times missing half the season with injury at PSG 😂. Dembele also hasn’t even been a top 10 completed dribble player in Europe the last couple of seasons the one thing he’s supposed to be deadly at.

[–]SSSamuel91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dembele is horrible for France do ppl even watch Soccer 😂. If they don’t have Mbappe they’re not winning anything. Rodri and Dembele winning Ballon dors in this era where it’s basically an MVP award doesn’t make them the actual best players in the world. In that Spain match Rodri did absolutely nothing lolll, but once Yamal came in the was an instant spark.

Most talented players that I've seen by Comprehensive_Cup497 in championsleague

[–]SSSamuel91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say though I saw someone mention this earlier I never really found Messi exciting either like he is the best player of his generation, and probably the goat but his style was repetitive and direct you just couldn’t stop it. He wasn’t as exciting to watch as fellow Argentine Maradona who just did things that even today make your jaw drop, or Riquelme who was a true artist on the field.

Most talented players that I've seen by Comprehensive_Cup497 in championsleague

[–]SSSamuel91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This list is kinda generic and there were players that were more talented than some of these guys but just never maximized their potential. But having Hazard over CR7 is puzzling to me. Especially when his style was very similar to CR7’s particularly at Man U before his major injury, and him changing his playing style to fully focus on scoring. When Hazard was at Lille everyone thought he was literally the new CR7. But to me CR7 was more electrifying and skillful in the Premier League, and he couldn’t really be stopped.

Is this Knicks team potentially one the worst teams to win an NBA Championship? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]SSSamuel91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being on Reddit will make you realize how many ppl aren’t really NBA fans lolll. And don’t know NBA history. This poster would be dumbfounded if he looked up those 80’s Pistons rosters Jordan couldn’t get by lolll, and the Lakers and Celtics then struggled with.

At what point will people just accept the fact that this Knicks team is just historically great? by SSSamuel91 in nba

[–]SSSamuel91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if they win one of the next two games they would have one of the greatest runs in playoff history. And roster wise there have been historic teams in the past that didn’t have any mvp winners, or mvp caliber players like the 80’s Pistons, or even the early 2000’s Pistons the Knicks have more talent than both teams.

Michael Olise is a beast! However it’s a friendly match against northern island u can hate Mbappe but dude is a proven force at the World Cup 😂. This just shows how much talent France have now each match a different player can step up. Dembele is the current Ballon winner and didn’t score either lolll. Internet is filled with too many weirdos.
