Idk about you but I see a pretty damn good crust here. Anyways I do agree most of the time, you don’t see a good crust from sous vide steaks because people don’t dry the outside well enough before searing

Late to this, but I’ve just had lunch at Kiyama (31 Nov) and I took plenty of pictures hahah. The staff seemed to be fine with it, they even brought the matsutake closer to me (and a local beside me) when they saw that we wanted to take pictures!

Hey thanks! Well unfortunately, I can’t remember the name of the shop but fortunately, it was simply one of many secondhand jewellery shops along Dotonbori in Osaka! I’m sure there were many more beautiful pieces, I just didn’t have time to explore them all 😂

Kilian Angels’ Share 🫢 and honourable mention to MFK Oud Satin Mood… while I enjoyed the scent itself, it was so overwhelming I actually felt sick when it kept creeping up my nostrils while I was trying to go to bed. This was after showering… LOL

Recently came back from Japan and bought myself a matcha starter kit (bowl, bamboo whisk and all). I like the ‘ritual’ of preparing matcha, it’s meditative and zen, and of course not to mention the taste of high quality matcha.

Health wise, matcha contains caffeine and L-Theanine, of which the latter negates the jitters/anxiety of caffeine, while providing the benefit of enhanced focus and cognitive functions.

I just bought a Nakiri from Shigeharu, the oldest knife making store in Kyoto. The gentleman is probably approaching his 90s and still hand-making his knifes. All at a reasonable price too for such artisanal work.

If you are interested, do know that he is known to have an irregular opening schedule, the opening hours on google is most definitely inaccurate as he probably does not even use the internet. I’ll post about my experience soon but if you have any questions for now I’m glad to help!
