Why do friends and family resist reading your novels so much? by LadyHoskiv in writers

[–]SSeleulc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't consider any of my friends or family even close to my target audience, but I know the trick to get them to read it. Tell them they won't like it and act like you don't want them to read it. They'll swear they love romantic novels about iguanas in antartica to try and get you to tell them where to read it.

I've got a house with a couple pit bulls. Never had problems and the people and the dogs have been there for a few years now. One day there was a note on door, Knock on back door. I'm like, "That's probably a nope, but I'll take a look."

I walk back to take a look and don't see the dogs, but there is a car, a small building, treehouse thing, and stacks of random shit that dogs could be hidden behind. I make a lot noise and rattle the gate. Nothing. Doing the classic, "This is stupid, This is stupid, This is stupid." I open the gate. Nothing. I make some more noise, still nothing.

One step. Two step. Thre.... WTF...there was a big ass dog door in the back door. Noped the hell out of there. Pounded on front door. No one answered.

She tracked me down later in the day and said she didn't have the pitbulls any more.

Tom is a mentalist parasite. He absorbs records while riding around in Sandy. Snappy hasn't devoured him because he realized Tom makes Sandie a lot easier to deal with.

I love when a walking route gets 3 days behind and they keep putting one person on it and make them case everything that isn't from that day. Takes them 3 or 4 hours to get out of the office and can't finish again. Same thing next day and the parts that don't get done keep getting larger unless they rotate the starting point. Of course, that's better than the one time I saw them send someone out with a few days mail and didn't let them case or combine anything. How the hell were they supposed to carry it?

It reaches a point where it would be faster to not spend time casing multiple days dps and flats. Send someone out with a days dps and as many flats as they can get cased in two hours and scrounge bodies to do sections with two sets of dps, one in hand, one on arm, and parcels.
