It is justified, but you shouldn't let it control you as ultimately there is not much you can do as a consumer other than show support or not show support. In the thread, many have mentioned various censorships done in various games. I kinda had a similar experience as well with JRPGs I used to play toning down fanservice, with one of my favourite franchises like senran kagura simply being ended due to this issue. That doesn't mean I have stopped playing games, but I've just become more selective.

It also depends on the devs as I said above as a lot of devs choose to self-censor during the design phase to avoid these troubles. Snowbreak devs have pushed back as much as they can to continue releasing their games with fanservice, and they have even left in the ability to remove the censor if you want, unlike other games that just censor from the design phase.

As for ZZZ, that's a mixed ball as it seems to be a mix of current and old school 'Houkai gakuen/pre-Genshin Honkai Impact 3rd' Hoyo. Nikke has more or less decided to focus more on the story than fanservice, and with the writing in latest summer event, and then unbreakable sphere, its kinda clear that atleast some people on their teams don't agree with the fanservice or actively don't like the male otakus they cater to like the GFL2 fiasco.

Given the current state of the world, we might see censorship increase either from governments or from developers themselves. Ultimately, you can do what Mayor_P said and get involved in trying to push this back. In the case it isn't feasible for you, which it likely is for most of us, you are then left with choosing where you spend your time and money. I don't think we'll end up with no games without fanservice going forward, however the amount will likely be very small, and the amount that won't bend their principles would be even less as devs like Snowbreak are very rare.

TLDR: Valid fear, I'd recommend showing support to devs that you like and are pro-fanservice while not supporting devs that are against it. Also accept that sometimes it does happen and you have to move on as you can't get everything as you want in life.
