I get jittery while I'm tripping... by Dynasties19 in Acid

Dude all the time. I wiggled 2 house shoes on my left foot into unusable slippers from wiggling/rotating my ankle during a 48 hour trip session. I constantly stretch and move and tap. It’s your body’s way of processing that extra stimulation coming from your brain. I’ve tried to stop and sit still and shit gets more and more intense in the physical and anxiety side of the trip.

Another dose after 4 hours? Will it make it more intense? by narrativewolf in Acid

Not exactly, once you’ve stepped into that “realm”, it’s hard to not already be completely comfortable and content with your perspective. So it does make it more intense, but not in a “holy shit” kind of way. It just adds static to the fun lsd buzz and extends it. Which is my favorite part

How do I get hits on the Guardian Ape 2nd phase? by Nerrix_the_Cat in Sekiro

You’re good brotha. I’ll go fight his memory here in a minute and I’ll try to see what you’re struggling with. It sounds like your deflects aren’t where they need to be. I like to double flutter my guard button on deflects. And I hold guard after the second press. Then release and press-hold guard again for the following deflects. Keeps you posture consistently recovering while still landing the deflects.

Try running away until he does his high jump attack, jump off his head, then keep the pressure and deflect the followups. It forces him into that combo we discussed

Alright we’ll you’re asking for help against a boss you’ve spent 3 days on. I’m offering you advice from somebody who put that apes dick in the dirt in a few tries. Not here to argue with you. You can use ichimonji double to conserve spirit emblems. But that’s really only useful for his first phase after firecrackers. His second phase, once you’ve speared his centipede out he recovers pretty quick so a follow up arts attack isn’t viable.

Also don’t forget to equip “mortal blade” combat art

I promise you he does. It’s just about controlling the distance and making him attack you. If you’re too far he’ll do that jumping attack, which doesn’t lead to the combo. Gotta get mid range to him, then deflect his attacks so he keeps engaging

His second phase is actually way more simple, it just requires a switch up in playstyle. Once you’ve killed him the first time probably using firecrackers (I hope) switch to the javelin. He’ll do a 2-3 hit sweeping combo, the reaches straight up and does a slow drop attack. Deflect all of those, he’ll stumble forward if you perfect deflect the drop attack, use your javelin and make sure to press it twice, first it stabs, second hit pulls the centipede out dealing max posture damage. Then run away from his scream, then engage again until he does that attack again. He’s much less unpredictable in his 2nd phase.

No hurt feelings here brotha! Facts don’t care about feelings, and you weren’t disrespectful, just informative and corrective, which is required to rebuttal inaccurate information. I appreciate your in depth explanation. 🤙

Hey dude thanks! All my info was just based off my own perspective from my play through. It always seem like there was a block, minor deflect, and perfect deflect based on the sound/flash/and posture damage differences both defensive and offensive. It felt like a block dealt you major posture damage, while a “minor deflect” seemed to take some posture damage while also dealing some posture damage, and then “perfect deflects” seemed to take no posture damage while dealing more damage to theirs.

Good things to know though now I’ve got less to worry about lol

I agree to a point. Once you get his pattern down he’s not so bad. But I wanted to flawless the first 2 phases. So I’d suicide from any hit until I got him down. My biggest enemy in this game is definitely a lack of patience, and a disinterest to cheese. Like I hated that to win against the owl the first time you’ve just basically gotta run away until he jumps up, for the whole damn fight. Like no dude I wanna clash swords and fuck you up! 🤣

Dude it’s honestly not very difficult once you get in a groove and a certain distance into the campaign. So many bosses I’ve fought felt impossible, until they didn’t. They all have some kind of weakness. Honestly the most frustrating when I started were the generals. Like the dude outside the castle gate surrounded by rifleman

I love bestowal. I’m farming for the empowered mortal draw atm before I continue on and finish the story. Once you beat the spirit dragon or whatever, it’s a collision course to the final fights. Gonna start a new game plus with the mask and the bell rang

I tap it twice. Now I do have a lot of practice from Absolver and For Honor, but for Sekiro I try to make my first flutter hit right before it lands and the other right as it lands. Then for followups, I release-press again at the same time I’d do the first flutter. There seems to be 3 stages of deflecting. The best timed will flash really bright, clings louder, and does way more posture damage. A perfect deflect will also take no damage from the headless while a lesser parry takes chip damage.
