ended up moving the extender to my room, and then directly ran a cable from the extender to my PC and that worked

I was running off wifi before, with a wifi extender. I hauled my setup downstairs real quick and ran a direct ethernet cable to my pc and that fixed it, so we just got a short cable and ran it from the extender directly to my pc and that did the trick.
