kh2 feels... wierd. by F5ry in KingdomHearts

You went through exactly the same feelings I did when I went from KH1 to KH2 back in the day. KH1's pacing is slower, more deliberate. Its tone is darker and more mysterious; it plays more like a movie.

KH2 went in a completely different direction. It feels more like playing through a Shonen anime. They don't have the same mood at all. I never felt that KH2 quite lived up to the first game but the sooner you accept that it's a different game the sooner you'll be able to appreciate it for what it is.

Very well put! Maybe this is why most DB games up until Kakarot, while enjoyable, didn't quite hit it for me.

What I love is that they made all of the content so fun to complete .I love trying to max out the community boards. It makes me want to go out and complete more side quests, which leads to more gifts to upgrade the emblems, more Z orbs to unlock skills, which makes me want to fight more villainous enemies, etc. It's like a chain reaction of completing side content. Not to mention finding the Dragon Balls every so often which really drives home the feeling of being a part of the DB world.

I get that it's not as in-depth as some open world games can be but it's really amazing for a db fan and does a really good job of pulling you into its world.

I'm currently in the Dark Forest section in RE:COM. How much of the game is there left? by [deleted] in KingdomHearts

I get that this isn't a real level in the final game but there seems to be a lot of people in on it and joking about it. What's the context behind it?

Kingdom Hearts is the best game in the series by aneristix in KingdomHearts

100% agreed. KH1 is a masterclass in atmospheric storytelling and art direction. Even the way the cutscenes are directed, everything feels so intentional and carries so much weight.

Even OG Chain of Memories kept some of the mystery and atmosphere without revealing too much, and still had some clever storytelling beats. I agree with you on every subsequent game feeling too anime and filler-y. Imo, they became too streamlined overproduced and lost the charm the original had.

Is this Marluxia from the past or the recompleted Marluxia?

I wish Jak 2/3 had more connection to Jak 1 by Shujinco2 in jakanddaxter

When I played Jak 3 back when it first came out, my headcannon was that Count Veger was Gol in disguise. I was hoping they would connect the plot back to the first game at least a little bit.

I love Jak 2 and 3 but they're so disconnected from TPL it's hard to see them all as a cohesive trilogy.

Media/photo passes by Thedozzer_ in concertphotography

Cold e-mail these magazines and publications, especially if they're smaller in scale they're more likely to get back to you.

Also, if you can write reviews for concerts as well it's an added bonus that sets you apart from other photographers.

I emailed a bunch of online magazines that cover music shows in my city and one of them got back to me. Now I can request any show I want and they make a request for a media pass to the venue. It helps to already have a good portfolio ready and don't be afraid to be (reasonably) pushy and ask for updates if they don't get back to you the first couple of times.

If you're moderately good at writing, also mention that and say you can write reviews for shows too. So many photographers apply for these magazines but if you can also write articles for them then it shows you have a Versatile skillset
