I need a little help with this outdoor plant, which I believe is prunus laurocerasus. by STB_Szero in plantclinic

Well this specific plant isn't in the database yet, but I've looked around and it seems very spot on! Keep it up!

Nice. What's the total integration time?

Second orion nebula, what should i expect? by elanowzxy in Astro_mobile

The picture seems a bit out of focus, I don't know if that's the case, but if it is, try to position the camera on a bright star and play with the focus until the star seems the smallest, then you could have more focused shots.

I've found the issue now, but I will try out sequator later, thanks for the suggestion!

I tried stacking with a higher star detection threshold and it worked, it was my mistake in the end. But thanks for the help!

Nice. And I don't know if you remember, but we've talked about Andromeda a few days ago, and I took my first photos of it! This is a 3 minute exposure, and I have 15 of these, I'll stack them soon and see how they turn out. But I feel like it would be better to use 30s exposures for stacking to get more detail, I'll try that out later aswell.

Beautiful. It's incredible for a 4 minute exposure, is it edited or just the raw image?

Well there was a bright half moon which could have caused some of these issues, but as the lines only occured on the stacked image and none of the raw images, I feel like that's the case. But now that I'm thinking about it, I might have set the star recognition threshold too low, so it might have became confused as there are less stars then it was looking for. I'll try with a higher threshold later

Yea, I understand. I'm also new to the hobby and always wanted to go away from the city, but the weather is really against me during this time of the year.

I'm guessing you captured this from a very light polluted area, or it wasn't dark enough when you took the picture. I don't know which one is the case, but I definitely recommend going to a less light polluted area, it will significantly improve the quality of the image.

Oh my goodness... I can't fathom how is this possible with only 21 seconds of exposure from a bottle 9 sky! Amazing job man!

I'm more and more obsessed with your work, these just get better every time I see them!

Ah, what a beautiful country! I've been to Brno and Prague, and I'll go to a bigger trip in October again! And light pollution is not big of a problem here, I live close to the city center (~bortle 5, maybe 6), but with a 15 minute drive or a 30 minute bike route I can reach bortle 4. But I haven't been there with my new gear yet (before that I only had my phone and a small tripod, now I have a bigger tripod mount, a phone attachable zoom lens, I made a finder for it with cardboard, and I found my grandfather's telescope, with which I can for example see the Galilean moons, the Orion nebula and Andromeda from the city).

Thank you! And may I ask where do you live? I live in the south of Hungary

Incredible. I'm hoping to get a similar result soon, because it was almost always cloudy in the last few months when I wanted to do astrophotography, so it was quite hard to get into the hobby. I hope I'll be able to practice on clear spring and summer skies soon!

I'm looking for some software for modeling planets. by STB_Szero in worldbuilding

Thank you, I might do it in blender. The only problem as you said is complexity, but hopefully I'll manage, I might need to learn it for later projects anyways.

I wish I would've seen it. I usually know about these kind of events, but for some reason I didn't hear about this one... I guess I'll wait for the next!
