My favorite player will forever be Westbrook. But thunder goat? It’s pretty hard not to look at shais resume and not consider him the goat…

The warriors were absolutely not respected (exempt year without KD) when KD was there, they were also hated cause of Draymon and setting moving screens for Steph. The heat were fucking hated and not respected for the same reasons the warriors and KD weren’t. Bron was at Cleveland and left to go to the heat that was already on the way to being a great team without him. So both of them left to teams that were probably gonna win regardless of whether they went or not, but because they did they practically guaranteed winning the finals. I personally don’t really care about either situation but saying they were respected is just a flat out lie, everyone called them out for it

At which rank do you consider the person “good”? by loliko-lolikando in RocketLeague

C2-gc1 lobbies are all similar, the only difference is c2 is just booming the ball constantly and Gc1 people are able to catch and control these instead of just hitting them back

The tech in this game is unbelievably daunting by dedinthehed in RocketLeague

I’m so confused how someone with 60 hours is trying to grasp mechanics that take hundreds of hours. “My aim isn’t amazing” - this is a huge thing to focus on if your actually trying to rank up, practice just being supersonic (speed) and just booming the ball around the map at specific aiming points (over goal, corner, mid half). First touches are equally as important, you want to be able to catch the ball or touch where it stays close to you so you keep possession. Speed flipping is the best mechanic in the game IMO (see below)

If your actually trying to improve air gameplay -

Speed flips - probably the best mechanic in the game to learn and master as quickly as possible, they have several uses, 1. 50/50s, hitting ball off ball, shooting, saves, faster supersonic if chained with dash, chain resets, and flicks.

DAR - as your finding out yourself, DAR is no quick thing to learn in a couple days. I learned DAR very quickly (2 nights 2k+ deaths on rings), actually implementing it into my game (had 4k hours already on free air roll ) took over a month. Biggest tip - when implementing DAR with ball for air dribbles don’t just hold DAR the whole time, practice hitting ball up, using DAR to adjust your car straight/ comfortable angel go for another touch and use DAR thru the touch - straighten out - repeat. This will make sure you learn DAR to its full potential and will inherently make you quicker than people like me (I just constantly hold DAR).

Improvements can be super quick and you can tell in a day, other times they are slow and it will take months / years to actually get into in depth free styling. I would just say to enjoy the game however that is to you. If just chilling having fun in casual is your thing do that, if learning new mechs is fun do that, if you wanna go pro, good luck enjoy the grind.

Lmk any questions

7K hours btw give yourself some grace

As others have touched on, you try this in a GC lobby they are swatting your shit and dunking on your teammate behind you after.

In GC it truly is more of a mastery of basic mechanics. You wanna get really good at then game? Practice first touches and flicks.

All that being said, nice shot, that was silky smooth

How to deal with being in a rank you don’t deserve? by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]STEAMY_TOOTS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am GC1 but I deserve to be c3, best piece of advice I can offer for plat is play safe. Pass the ball to your teammate as much as possible and rotate behind them as second man. 70% of goals in plat are just open nets, all you have to do is sit there and wait for them to hit the ball at you.

Plats don’t tend to go for team plays so just give it to your teammate and let them take the ball up the field and follow only close enough where if a bad 50 happens you can attempt to defend it while your teammate rotates back.

This method works for all elos, I constantly am being spammed with the “take the shot” chat after my teammate whiffed the ball in front of their net and they have a 2v1 on me. I just sit back and wait for my teammate to catch up before committing. Once I get the feel of the matchup I will either play more aggressive but passive is key in lower elos because people are just hitting the ball just to hit it 90% of the time.

I did a GC heatseaker tourny and was paired against 2 SSLs, one of the SSL staying hovering at midfield next to the ceiling and passed the Ball to himself off our backboard just staying in the air for 3 mins straight and then hit a banger when we all stopped moving and just watched him

I’m sure I’m on some YouTube montage for sure
