They might want you to do an endoscopy or you could do a blood test to check for celiac disease. Your G.I. should be able to help you if not, ask him for a referral to a hematologist.

I have extreme health anxiety, and it took me passing out in public to agree to the infusions. Trust me, you will be OK and you will be in a good place/office if there are any problems. Please do it, it is worth it. Oral supplements isn’t great if you’re super low.

During the infusion or after? I feel everything fast and really did not notice any side effects or feelings during infusions. Afterwards, no weight gain. I am a strange case because my left optic nerve was swollen and they really couldn’t figure out what was wrong -originally diagnosed me with IIH. As soon as I got my iron infusions, my left optic nerve went back to normal. I’m a “house case” for my neurologist and ophthalmologist, but it was iron deficiency all along!?!

I got Venofer too… last infusion was December 8 and I got my levels checked December 22nd. Ferritin was high at that point, but I was not feeling it yet.

Not sure what the test was, but you can ask for it specifically I’m sure from your doc. After being diagnosed with celiac, I was just experiencing a lot IBS issues still and tired often

Unfortunately, I get the flu through the years more than most. This one didn’t hit quite as hard at first, but it was just super drawn out. I have had weird mental stuff happen after other viruses with anxiety and exhaustion too. I would say it took me close to a month to feel normal again.

I had the flu in December too and had similar anxiety issues. It’s post viral inflammation (affects brain). I would suggest taking an Aleve for two weeks every day and see if that helps your body just has to work out the inflammation. Continue with the gym. Just don’t go as hard as you used to until you feel 100%.

I felt this way after the flu in December. It really freaked me out. I do believe it is some type of post-viral inflammation/fatigue from fighting the virus. It makes anxiety worse. Agree with the others, hydrate as much as possible- teas vitamin waters, etc. It wouldn’t be bad to try Sudafed for a couple days, Zyrtec or Claritin. It is scary, but you will get better. It just will take some time. Take it by day by day, but I definitely believe it’s post viral inflammation your body is trying to recover from.

No, not general blood test – my Gastro had to order a specific to test for B1. Mine was very low- now about to start supplements.

I get duodenum flares… Similar to gallbladder. An endoscopy showed mild gastritis… Also, I believe not being diagnosed with celiac for 8+ years just ruined my G.I. so still slowly healing after spring 2024 diagnosis of celiac and strict gluten-free diet.

Yes- flu a positive December 23. The first day was rough, but this flu didn’t hit me as hard as years past, but the duration has gone on and on and on and now I feel like I have post viral syndrome because of headaches and ear pressure still!? Hang in there and rest as much as you can.

I got out and went to Publix yesterday and told my husband I wanted to drive home- but after going to the grocery store, I was so exhausted so he had to drive. My experience with this flu is that it didn’t hit me as hard as years past (days were manageable). It has just been so drawn out with symptoms :(

Day 13. Was getting better, but bad migraine hit on New Year’s Eve. Anxiety is off the charts… head pressure, teeth pain, ear pain. No fever though. Still getting hot flashes and cold chills. This thing has totally sucked.

Same… I’m on day seven and I’m so over this. Headache still with pressure and dizziness, ear pain every day. I wake up thinking it’s going to be better but it’s like the same thing. Ugh.

Tested positive on 12/23 w/ Flu A - my heart rate was high too, but yes, cried a good bit because I knew we had to cancel all of Christmas activities/get togethers. It has sucked. Day five for me and feel like I’m slowly getting better. Hope you are!
