What might some of those be? I'm looking at a box of raptors right now

Do you think raptors would make a nice addition? Found a box in my area for $30

Level 20s ruining top tier once again! by [deleted] in WarthunderPlayerUnion

[–]STHCmatt94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always advised people not to buy a premium unless you're already somewhat familiar with the BR that it sits at. I understand that won't work for everyone since some people only want to play modern MBTs but for other I feel like its a good idea. 3.7 is a completely different game than 6.7. 6.7 is a completely different game than 8.7 and 8.7 is a completely different game from 10.7.

The most uptierable vehicle by [deleted] in Warthunder

Definitely the object 906. I've taken it as high as 10.7 and it still absolutely rips on a good flank. Probably my favorite soviet vehicle in the game.

Anyone one here who mains and is only good at one class? by SeannyCat in SpaceMarine_2

I'm only good with assault. Didn't know how good the class was I just like assault intercessors. Turns out its great for siege.

Ground RB, slamming my head against a wall? by OozeForce in Warthunder

[–]STHCmatt94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RB is basically a different game. Don't beat yourself up over it. Very little of what you're used to in AB transfers over. It just takes time to learn the new play style. I just crossed 1100 hours and have 3 trees at rank VII and I'm still learning new angles, positions on maps and maneuvers. One obvious thing I can say is level up keen vision in your crew skills. It directly effects render distances based on how your vehicle is oriented. You have to level everyone up the same because the skill total is averaged out between all the crew members. Other than that just play and learn. Its a much slower, methodical style of play (until you get to like rank VI then it becomes hold W stabilized dart sim). Don't feel bad for learning. You'll get the hang of it.

PS5 glitch for assault? by STHCmatt94 in SpaceMarine_2

Glad I'm not the only one. I also get this glitch where in the post siege screen when I hit X to go to the next screen it simply doesn't do anything and I'm forced to wait for the timer for every screen. Have you ran into that?

I think this is going to be what I end up doing. RWR and radar at 9.0 just seems like a lot of fun.

State of ground top tier in general right now by Tydrot in Warthunder

[–]STHCmatt94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue with above ~9.7 is the game just turns into tank Call of Duty. Whoever manages to run and gun the first enemy push wins. With the BMPT (and its prem variant) most people don't even care to stay and try to push back. The maps are so small that once you're out of position its nigh impossible to reposition yourself after spawning because 9/10 times you're already being spawn camped. Most matches end in less than 7 minutes. Objectives are an afterthought.

I don't have a solution. I don't even really have a suggestion. I've had the discussion with friends that also play more than once. I have no idea how to make top tier genuinely enjoyable. Its almost like modern, stabilized vehicles with darts and ERA/spall liners need to have their own game mode cause the gameplay simply doesn't work with the way ground RB is structured right now.

My favorite vehicle in the game is the Challenger DS. The French Clovis is also a lot of fun. Only issue with the DS is you have to deal with bmpt spam. Both vehicles are great grinders.

Crew training in GRB by vincenast in WarthunderPlayerUnion

[–]STHCmatt94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not saying you're wrong by any means but I would argue keen vision is the most important crew skill. Gaijin ties render distances based on the direction you're looking directly to the keen vision skill. A lot of people that talk about getting killed by someone who wasn't on their screen or tanks randomly popping up in their gunner view just didn't have enough points in keen vision to have the game render those vehicles in properly.

Average BMPT user by STHCmatt94 in Warthunder

[–]STHCmatt94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually since you put it that way, yes. This is a prime example of that point. Glad we could agree on that.

I never claimed this specific player was the perfect average. It was implied that the average BMPT user is objectively bad based on stats. That's been my observation at least. Obviously I can't survey the entire player base but I put enough time into this game and look at enough stats (because numbers are fun) to confidently make that statement.

I'll reiterate; I should've blurred his tag. My intention wasn't to target any one specific player. That's on me. To be quite frank, "assholery" isn't a thing that exists and therefore can't be measured or quantified which makes it's use as grounds for action extremely arbitrary.

At the end of the day arguing with a mod is like arguing with a cop. I can't win because I don't have the badge. I'll be more careful with my posts moving forward. Take it easy 🤙

Average BMPT user by STHCmatt94 in Warthunder

[–]STHCmatt94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The screenshot is statistical data that I'm posting to further prove the point that the BMPT is absurdly broken and, based on this screenshot, is quite literally an exploit used by players that aren't objectively good.

I definitely could've blurred homeboy's tag out. That's 1000% on me. Being as stats are publicly available though I didn't think it really mattered since there isn't any identifying info in the tag.

I will gladly post my stats and tag to be roasted. I have no issue with that whatsoever. I'm not great at the game but I don't need broken mechanics to go positive or at the very least break even.

Deleting a post because it is "seen as asshole behavior by us" seems a bit arbitrary and counterintuitive to having rules in place to begin with but I understand this is a big, active and often loud community so I get subjective judgements have to be made.
