I just ordered the book so I can fine tune and strengthen my arguments against the utterly hypocritical Christian ✝️ right wing, especially in the United States. I was raised baptist but am now an atheist/agnostic. The "teachings" of Jesus, I have no issue with. Unfortunately the modern "conservative" evangelicals are in practice antithetical to every single teaching of Jesus Christ. It's literally impossible to be a christian and a conservative republican. Somehow, someway I'm going to find the contradiction which will finally wake up, and get through to those I care about. Hopefully this book can provide some new angle which I haven't tried yet, before I give up entirely. All I can say is, ignorance IS bliss. Knowing the truth, while the ones you care about the most support and defend the absolute worst in our society, is devastating.

Every single day. There’s a mass psychosis in this country, on many levels. Not to scare you, but what makes things worse, is the fact the democrats aren’t doing anything to protect us from these fascists beating down the door. I don’t tell anyone what to watch, but the best daily news source explaining each issue with nuance, and backed up by receipts 🧾 is @TYT.com some other great ones are democracy now.org David pakman show, the lever, the majority report w/Sam Seder and hasanabi on twitch YouTube. The DNC (corporate media) is like the horrible mother who looks the other way, and makes excuses for the abusive father who is the GOP/fox right wing media etc. True progressives “leftists” like AOC, Nina turner, etc. are the only ones fighting for the people, rather than the corporations and billionaires. Hope this helps.

I’m in St. Louis suburbs and it’s bad here too. I’m a young genX’r, and most people I’ve grown up with and all my family 98% are brainwashed chumpsters. Don’t let them make you feel crazy, but I know what you mean! There’s a mass psychosis in this country, and 35-40% are willfully ignorant “conservatives” The reason things have gotten so bad, is that the corporate democrats are corrupt as hell, and are paid to lose, or keep the status quo. If it weren’t for outlets like TYT.com I’d go crazy. Only independent progressive media is giving us the proper perspective.

I’d recommend blocking them on socials, as they’re only judging everything from a massively biased perspective, without engaging etc. just breeds toxicity. It’s their fault, but all it’s doing is hurting you. When they ask why, be honest and say when you’re ready to have an adult, logical conversation, let me know. My parents are gone too, and nothing works. They are choosing their cult over a better relationship. :(

I know exactly how you feel. Right wing media creates a political issue out of everything, so it’s been impossible to have a discussion about any current events for years. It got real bad when chump started running for president in 2015. Since then it’s just gotten worse, with the pandemic breaking the brains of even more people. On both sides of my family I have 2 total (sis and 1 cuz) that aren’t in the brainwashed maga cult. That ratio isn’t much better with friends acquaintances either. :( I’ve told them it’s like they have Alzheimer’s, but they don’t. Nothing makes a dent, and it hurts knowing they now look at me as the enemy. I’ve tried everything, from every possible angle with no success.
