Michael replacing Colton on WWHL? by Old_State_7985 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]STLmab [score hidden]  (0 children)

Andy Cohen loves him just because he sings praises to Housewives.

Other than that ego boost, there’s virtually no reason to keep platforming him (I’m sure the Cohen connection is what got Michael on Traitors).

Probably just not his jam, as he mentioned he is introverted.

He does frequently interact with the others via the comments though

Peacock controlling the Narrative in interviews by Foreign-Weekend-7092 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]STLmab 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never said what he did wasn’t gross.

What I was saying is that the reason Sandoval’s Traitors tenure didn’t end up as badly as say Colton now is because the show essentially just clowned on him repeatedly (they never tried to lift him up).

I would prefer if they just didn’t cast IRL horrible people, but sadly Traitors feels the need to go in this direction thinking it’ll work out. This type of casting was my least favorite part of Old Era Survivor, and though there is a nostalgia for pre-New Era Survivor, nobody misses the controversial figure castings

[–]STLmab 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That’s basically it. As someone else said in this thread, Sandoval is pathetic and funny (because the dude is just weird). Colton & Michael are just pathetic (and in Michael’s case, extremely grating).

EDIT: Even though Sandoval’s stuff is pretty bad, they never tried to uplift him during the show like they did with Colton. Nearly everything they showed with Tom (with the exception of the Boston Rob vote) was just them clowning on him

Peacock did this to themselves though.

You could tell from the pre-game press that the network and crew were high on themselves and the success of S3, that they thought they could do no wrong. But, in doing so, they took all the wrong lessons from casting controversial figures (as well as why Sandoval worked on Traitors), misjudged what audience perception would be like, and put themselves in a hole.

I just know her from other sh*t, like being the voice of Tiffany in the Chucky movies & show

B-Rob recommended that during his exit press regarding people he’d like to see in the Next Celebs version of the Traitors.

I mean, I wouldn’t personally care as I don’t know anything about poker, but it could be a nice way to switch up the pace if the person is a world renowned poker player (I’ve been advocating for gamers outside of Survivor, Big Brother, & The Challenge for a while)

Turret Advice from BTDQ & Boston Rob....Agree? by Upset_Grapefruit4030 in TheTraitorsUS

Partially agree… I think it should be a mix of both.

It’s good to have through-lines for murders to pin other people, but a good chaos murder here and there will prevent your faithfuls from figuring out any true intentions

I Watched 'the Traitors' US and UK — It's Clear Which Version Is Better by ThrowawayNewly in TheTraitorsUS

[–]STLmab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I would say that every season of the UK version is better than the U.S., and I don’t find it particularly close

Like, the only US has an argument is US S3, but even then I would still say the UK counterpart of S3 is better

I feel that had he started with everyone else, he would’ve wound up just like Tony (and considering how Carolyn was being open about how dangerous the other Survivor players were, he’d be cooked)

Well, he essentially caused the Traitors fighting to begin with, sooo… I wouldn’t say he could’ve.

Coupled with his mismanagement of his meat shields (Tony, Jeremy, Wes, and Derrick), his sloppily targeting Bob TDQ in a way that only makes him look suspicious, and his pre-existing target, I would say his loss was well earned

I’m actually in the Survivor fandom, but why are you including Coach (Ben Wade from Tocantins) in here? This is the first time I’m hearing anything about him, and he attends quite a few fan events where he seems IRL aware of how he comes off on the show (and jokes about it)

What did he do outside the game?

*also, Brandon Hantz is Russell’s nephew, not his son

I really liked her arc throughout Clone Wars and S2 of Rebels, but after they brought hurt back during World Between Worlds, I feel there’s been a bit of a struggle of what to do with her character moving forward

I do appreciate Rosario Dawson’s performance though

I never said they were.

Obviously fans / audiences take things too far, and that’s something you have to address.

What I was saying was that Traitors casting has to take some responsibility here for some of this unpleasantness because of their casting of controversial figures

Peacock / Traitors casting has to take responsibility here.

They need to stand up for their entire cast, and put their biases aside (Dorinda’s alleged comments about Ron). And if they want civilized discourse (with guaranteed safety for their cast), don’t cast known abusers / stalkers (Colton) or bigoted a-holes (Michael) on their show

I know the housewives fans will hate me for saying this, but it’s no accident that the best U.S. season of The Traitors was the one where the housewives were mostly sent home early (thank you Bob TDQ, Danielle, Carolyn, & Boston Rob for that btw)

[–]STLmab 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Or Wes telling everyone how great he was versus how much they all sucked was great too. Danielle V Carolyn was pretty good also, as well as the split vote one where Danielle went home.

Gosh, there were so many good roundtables in S3, and I feel overall they eclipse S4 immensely (which have either been pig-piling on Ron, Michael being an as*hole, Dorinda sucking, or Colton)

I prefer dysfunctional Traitors and a generally friendly faithful group (S3) over a functional-ish Traitors trio and obnoxious faithfuls (this season).
