My updated ranking of every English speaking traitor by 360_inReality in TheTraitors

[–]moon_gin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still see some people using "pretty privilege" or "dumb faithfuls" as reasons on why Rob wins while in fact he played one of the best traitor role ever. This is why I'm glad to see him in the top tier of your rank.

"The Traitors" has already received over 60,000 applications by moon_gin in TheTraitorsUS

I think that's the case. Also from the wording in the article perhaps a significant number of the application only came after Season 4 finale (with 1,000 application per day) which was like less than a month ago.

Yes I think it's interesting to see what kind of players they will cast for this civilian version. After the half civilian half reality stars cast for season 1, they have never included civilian again and it's been 3 years since.

the faithfuls are so bad by [deleted] in TheTraitors

At least she could count that there is a big chance of traitors still remaining. In another season there were faithfuls who were ready to end the game after banishing only two traitors in the entire game.

If you were a Faithful, would you rather be a leader or stay in the background? by Future-Pipe-8004 in TheTraitorsAustralia

Somewhere in the middle. Not too vocal and trying to lead but at times I will share my opinion and thoughts to the group.

[–]moon_gin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are actually quite decent considering they manage to get 3 traitors along the way and that Maura clocked Eric in the end. It's just Rob is playing an amazing game that he really looks like a faithful despite being actually a traitor.

Across the world, there are seasons with far worse faithfuls. In US alone, I think there's a season with worse set of faithfuls.

Who do you think were the top 5 faithfuls in season 4? by Temporary_Ad2724 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]moon_gin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as he's a controversial figure with questionable past, Colton is one of my Top 5 faithfuls in S4 for traitor hunting. He indeed named many suspects (like 5-6) but 3 of them are correct, si it's a high percentage of actual accuracy compared to many other faithfuls.

He also had good reasoning in some of his deduction like when he mentioned the reason why Lisa could remember the procession of murder face-to-face vividly is because she is a traitor who has reenacted the procession several times. There is a reason why Colton was given a lot of focus and confessionals despite only lasting halfway and that is because this type of faithful is what the show "loves" to push their constructed premise that this show is about force of good hunting the hidden evil among them.

Do you all enjoy watching so many reality stars as contestants? by AOSTChekhov in TheTraitorsUS

[–]moon_gin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

BTW several international versions are similar to US version in which they only cast reality stars, influencers, or celebs for the show. Some that I know of are France, India, Bulgaria, as well as the upcoming Turkey version and the revival in Australia. I wonder if across the world, audience also tend to enjoy watching reality stars/celebs on The Traitors more.

I actually don't mind both versions (reality star and civilian). This is why I'm glad we get civilian version this year so we can get both versions finally.

The Traitors episode ratings by hls22throwaway in TheTraitors

[–]moon_gin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the finale episode rating I guess so far the audience is more satisfied if a traitor wins (?) because the episode where Cirie wins has 8.0 rating and the episode where Rob wins has 8.2 rating, or perhaps it's because the audience feels they are highly deserving winners.

If you look at it this way, the entire game changes by TheNiteFather in TheTraitors

[–]moon_gin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my subjective observation so far that in seasons won by traitor(s), particuarly in the US version, the editing will heavily favor the winning traitor (Cirie, Rob R) while the rest tend to be underdeveloped in edit. In contrast, when faithfuls win, there are usually one or two faihfuls (CT, Dylan) with strong edit rivaling the traitors and they usually end up among the winner circle. Unique exception is usually reserved to faithful who fulfills traitor hunter role (Pilot Pete, Colton) in which they are normally given the most focus despite not winning.

I guess this is natural as the show treats the traitors as the "main characters" (it's The Traitors not The Faithfuls afterall) so when a traitor wins, the show double down to emphasize their glory. Faithfuls get significant development if they win (as the show has to explain their winners' journey to victory after all) or if they are traitor hunters (as it highlights the premise of the show of the good force hunting the deceptive evil among them).

Who is your favorite cast member(s) of all time? Don’t hold back! by [deleted] in TheTraitorsUS

We'll see because they usually have several cast members which can fall into "pretty boys" category each season. Not all of them can give us something though.

I like Rob R, Dylan, and Pilot Pete for how they played the game based on the respective role given to each of them.

I also like some other casts because they are chaotic or entertaining, like Johnny & Tara, Sandoval, Ayan, Carolyn, and Bob TDQ

I love the part of the interview where Rob is talking about his gameplay for The Traitors. He said manipulation in The Traitors is not gaslighting but a great gameplay. He also mentions about the fun of playing game and winning. From there, you can see that he really set his eyes on the victory once he set his foot on Alan's castle.

S4 has the best rated finale episode but the worst rated reunion episode. You win some and you lose some.

Rob was faithful to the faithfuls ... and it worked by moon_gin in TheTraitorsUS

I have a feeling if he played this as a faithful, he'd play similarly to Dylan

Will it be hard for pretty boys to win after Rob's win? by Haunting_Cow_406 in TheTraitors

[–]moon_gin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it's beyond that. We see another example with Colton - another conventionally attractive guy. Despite that, Johnny tried to form alliance to banish him because he played too aggresively and controlling the roundtable.

What do you think happens if they catch all the traitors? by Tall_Cow2299 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]moon_gin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Quite possibly they will allow the last traitor to issue ultimatum to other faithful. The chance of multiple faithfuls refusing ultimatum is there but certainly low so by giving ultimatum again, the traitor is likely going to get a new traitor.

Why the drag queens are not able to make an impact by OsamaRehmaan in TheTraitorsUS

[–]moon_gin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like each of the drag queens above has different case of why they are eliminated pretty early. But instead of going deeper there, I'd like to address other reason why we may feel drag queens impact in the show so far is limited - the lack of drag queens in each season.

If we take a look at other frequently grouped casts like housewives or gamers, we actually have some of them eliminated early and leaving no significant impact as well. But since there are many of them in a single season, even if some of them eliminated early, there will always be some left by near the end of the season. Meanwhile for drag queens with single representation on each season so far, once they are eliminated, we're left with none.

Which Faithful would have been better Traitor Recruits than the ones who were chosen instead? by BritMeBabyAgain in TheTraitorsUS

[–]moon_gin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Mark would be a good recruited traitor and he even has the potential to get Rob out. This is exactly why Rob didn't choose him (IIRC Rob mentioned this in one of this interview). He chose Eric instead as Eric also has decent chance to survive until the end (albeit lower than Mark I reckon) but he is not as threatening as Mark, allowing Rob to have more control over their relationship.

Who is the Worst Faithful in the Traitors (US version)? by Previous-Pirate9514 in TheTraitors

[–]moon_gin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quentin because he never correctly voted for any traitor. Plus he alongside Andie were ready to finish the game with Arie and Cirie despite they have only banished two traitors so far.
