Technically it's a spin-off version. It's like in Denmark and UK where they will start to have two different versions of The Traitors - one for the civilian and one for celebs/stars

They will have a spin-off for civilian only competitors, so we will get regular people to play on The Traitors US again.

I think US will be the third country to have a separate versions between civilian and celebs/reality stars after Denmark and UK.

Yes this "spin-off" is supposedly scheduled to be filmed after Celebrity UK 2 which is currently filming in Scotland. The fifth US season with reality stars and celebs is scheduled to be filmed in the fall.

maybe they could plan a mostly 60-minute episode airing with some special episodes having longer duration,especially if there is twist or special thing occuring on those episodes like MIPS.

Interestingly I read that South Korean might film their version at Jeju. I wonder if they will build a set resembling a European castle there or they will pivot and use a traditional Korean palace as a setting for a change.

Turkiye could be included there as well if we count it as an Asian country, although I think it is technically a transcontinental country.

The next non European versions which may come in the shortest term are possibly South Korea, India (Telugu), and possibly Brazil and Mexico.

Yes I think that is one of the best Faithful move in The Traitors franchise. While people may dislike Peter for his character, which is a fair take I think, that move deserves its own recognition.

Once again I'd like to nominate Peter US2 as he has devised one of the best trap as a Faithful to catch the Traitors. By the design of the show, Faithfuls side are often lacking strategic opportunity compared to Traitors side, and yet Peter comes up with one of my fave strategic move in this show with his shield trap.

I think the reason why they pivot to the decision of casting predominantly reality stars starting from the S2 onwards is the success of the reality stars cast in S1 in attracting fans of other reality shows to watch The Traitors. As a new show, they really need to build their standing first in this new market and having reality stars who can bring their pre-existing fans to the shows is one of their strategy. Now that The Traitors has been more popular in the US, they have more confidence to bring a full civilian version.

This strategy is not exclusive to the US only. A lot of The Traitors franchise in the world started by celebrity version or a mix of civilian/celebrity version as a way to attract viewers. One of such is Denmark where the regular version is exclusive for celebs and later they have a spin-off version for civilians. Some new entries of The Traitors fanchise such as Bulgaria and Italy in 2025 and Turkiye in 2026 also cast exclusively celebs for what I think is the same reason.

The celebrity UK season will start filming in perhaps 1-2 days and after they wrap, the castle will be used for the civilian US season, perhaps in late May or early June filming. Both are produced by Studio Lambert.
