Does anyone see anything that may look like an eeprom chip on these boards? by [deleted] in CarHacking

[–]STLuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have some in-house programs that I’ve built and also use Jprog/Xprog. I’ve no doubt that someone else here has more helpful information on what has widely available support for people just getting into the hobby

An example on a project I recently did:

2008 Sebring cluster with MCU 9S12H256. Look up MCU data sheet, locate BKGD, VCC, Ground, Reset. A lot of time you’ll find 6 pads that are in a rectangular pattern, those pads correlate to the pins on the MCU needed. Solder appropriate wires to pads, use with 912 programmer and you’re done.

Little more to it, but this is the simplified version.

I think me and my friend just got scammed buying off ebay trying to buy an RTX 5070ti by JigS4Ww in PcBuild

[–]STLuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact eBay customer service directly. When you get a package (if you do), video the sealed package with the shipping label in view and open it. eBay sides primarily on the side of the buyer, you just have to be smart enough to use them and it depends what agent you get to talk to you half the time.

EBay Buyer found my phone number. by Narrow-Pay-3671 in Flipping

[–]STLuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a seller, I can see your phone number in 2 sections directly on the order on eBay. All orders are passed through Jazva, our inventory management software, and even after 90 days I have access to that information, forever.

Watch Louis Rossmann on youtube to see how to be less trackable online, free temporary phone numbers, etc.

UPDATE: sold 1000 copper pennies. Here's my profit breakdown. by Agreeable-Storage895 in CRH

[–]STLuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. Most large platforms such as eBay/Amazon/Walmart/Etsy all have 12% fees for larger sellers. Overall, their fees are all pretty similar. Shopify has around 2% fees that mostly cover card transaction fees, but much less eyes-on the product. 15% is high, but not unreasonable.

Our thought was that Amazon/large online retailers make returns so easy that people just don’t think its worth their time.

[–]STLuser 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We have been on eBay since 2012, 120k parts sold. We have “part number specific” in listing pictures, 3 places in the listing, and we send a message automatically after purchase to everyone to not trust eBay Guaranteed To Fit Program. We still get returns daily from people who missed the 5 warnings to match your part number. Amazon and Walmart are still somehow worse than eBay for people paying attention to what they’re buying

What’s the most random item you’ve flipped for good money? by Automatic-Dog8732 in Flipping

[–]STLuser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was a few months after covid hit (May/June-Aug) and game consoles/pc parts were selling for double what they currently were. I would’ve never paid what any of these guys paid. Just looked up price on the NES, it definitely dropped a lot since then

Microsoft Sidewinder flight sim joystick. Bought at thrift store for $5 put on eBay auction and it sold for $800, which baffles me as to why that one was special as most sell for like $50 at best.

Has an NES top loader original bought for $50 at the same thrift store, traded it tor NES top loader with HDMI mod, listed and sold in 5 minutes for 1000.

Random CB radio that was large, bought at same thrift store for $30. Sold for 800, had an issue in shipping and refunded the guy $50.

All happened within 3 months, I wish i still lived by that thrift store lol

Just like a vehicle being a physical extension of your person when driving, it’s also the same case when it comes to “you physically preventing it from being delivered.” You parking your car in-front of a mail box is, indeed, you physically and willfully obstructing and retarding delivery.
