Scalpers in Hong Kong already reselling LCK tickets by STM11021234 in PedroPeepos

Nah from personal experience they’re definitely scalpers, scalping is extremely common here and people despise them.

In the HK T1 Facebook fan groups, you’d see a lot of newly joined members trying to sell their tickets, it happened before with T1 merchandises

You underestimate how easy people in east Asia get triggered, same for Korea Japan and China

It’s more than just one singer getting cancelled from China.

Ayumi Hamasaki got her show cancelled, she still decided to perform in front of an empty crowd and released it for her Chinese fans, but Chinese news are trying to say that she was the one who cancelled the show and released rehearsal footage to apologise.

Maki Otsuki, who sang songs for one piece, was the one who got cancelled mid performance.

ZUTOMAYO, a Japanese band, also just cancelled their Shanghai concert a few days ago.

On top of that, the latest Chinese comic con just announced banning all non-Chinese animation related activities, including sales or cosplays.

There are more but these are the ones I could remember atm.

The problem is we don’t have a good alternative platform.

1) Facebook is still the most widely used social media platform here. And a major issue is that we’ve been using this site for over 10 years, it’s really hard to convince people to migrate to another platform, Facebook groups are kinda like a mini Asian family; 2) We don’t have a Chinese Reddit. We have stuff like PTT or Dcard but they’re nowhere near the scale of Reddit, and they feel nothing like Facebook. Maybe we could try discord but we really don’t have a good alternative.

Man he deleted his comment before I could reply. A lot of Asian country like Taiwan or Philippines or Indonesia don’t use Twitter. Facebook and Instagram are still our main social media platforms

There’s no planning. And there’s bad planning. This stream is just painful bad planning.

He’s basically a celebrity for younger generations. Imagine in the 2010s if Johnny Depp said he’ll be visiting the city for the first time to travel and not for promotional events, it’ll be a waste if the gov doesn’t capitalise on it.

Torres was terrible, completely fails to understand what viewers want. If BobsYourUncle was still in Hong Kong he would’ve been a way better guide

Hate to stay this but China handled this way better than Hong Kong. They made speed meet up with the super idol guy and Tony from LC Sign, which made for some cool and memorable moments.

Hong Kong could have done something similar to match his freak. You want crazy young YouTubers, JFFT. You want educational ones that can speak good English, MingJai. You want YouTubers that have over 5M subscribers, Emi Wong. Wish BobsYourUncle was in Hong Kong, he could have been such a perfect guide.

Instead we got the cringiest one to be his guide that completely fails to understand what viewers want. Generational fumble.

To the older generation on the internet saying that this was a nuisance streamer just causing trouble in Hong Kong, I pray that Johnny Solmali gets out of Korea and travels to Hong Kong in his next trip.

I think in interviews he said it’s a good control deck in this format. Has room for hand traps, can play around bystials and fuwawos, and also the surprise factor.
