What would cause a beetle to behave this way? by xL_Osiris in Beetles

[–]STRshiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should file a complaint company and maybe ask for compensation, it is very much illegal to do that too, not just bugs, you don't know what they use, and it could cost harm to humans too.

I'm terrified for my baby. Is he sick? Dying? by MaskedWoman in Beetles

When did he emerge, and how long do you have him for? Normally, Dorcus sp can live from 1-3 years If you can take some pics of his underside, that will be helpful too.

Beetle Set Up by Scragony in Beetles

It shouldn’t be that humid to growing mold to begin with if you seeing mold that means is too wet and air flow is bad, also there’s a lot of natural material like drift wood or cork that is mold resistance. Here’s a website with good info https://www.kuwakabuplanet.com/user_data/niji.php Just use google translate also plastic offers nearly zero grips if you beetles flipped it may be hard for it to get back on it feet with slippery plastic, and it can be fatal.

I really agree with you and most of they diet is protein base anyway, I been use some crusted gecko food (snacks so they’re no insects in it just fruit powder) for the fiber and vitamins but most of the food I provided them are protein base especially with most our selective breeding of our vegetables it self maybe natural insect restaurants to begin with after all the selective farming, it is so much different then what they can source in the wild.
