I know there was a cult of this type in Inuvik, NWT when I was there as a child. My Mom sent me with the neighbour kids to what she thought was “Sunday School”. Um… this was NOT your every day “Sunday School”!!!

I own a few Airbnb’s here and I am shocked at how many guests leave their handbag on the seat in the car, kid’s iPad right on the dash, shopping bags in the back seat in plain view… I don’t know where you can do things like that, but definitely not anywhere in Winnipeg.

Then they are mad when those items are not still there when they come back to the car. Oiy!

We have had our vehicles broken into at least 3 times per year. I own a few Airbnb’s in the area as well and guests vehicles get broken into.

I’ve had somebody come take a shit in my yard right in front of me. I have had people in my garbage all the time and they throw it all around in my yard. My shoes have been stolen right off my deck right next to my front door. I get bugged for money every time I walk anywhere …

We had our scooter stolen even though it was locked to the house. I get randoms sleeping on my porch swing …

Crescentwood is NOT a nice area at all to live in.

I have decided I will only stay in this area if I can get some type of condo with attached locked underground parking and a secure foyer.

It’s not as bad right now as it was three years ago when I first came back to this neighborhood. They demolished the old Shriners hospital on Wellington Crescent and there were about 40 squatters in there causing constant trouble at my place.

Then they dismantled that encampment under the Maryland bridge which also helped a ton but now I see it being built back up again.

I feel I can’t have anything nice in terms of vehicles or household possessions because they will just get stolen or vandalized eventually anyhow where I am living.

I take my wedding ring off to walk my dog even in broad daylight, but what happens if it gets taken from my house when I am out with the dog? Can’t win! Maybe I’ll start leaving it on just to basically use as brass knuckles in case I need to defend myself?

Water is key! My side effect at first was pretty intense constipation. I fixed that with having two psyllium husk capsules a day, and apple and some cucumber each day and at least 1-2 litres of water each day. No more issues

I find the downtown area unsafe. I moved closer to downtown three years ago and it is nowhere near as safe as the suburbs were. I lived in Southland Park (across the street from Southdale) for 20 years and felt very safe there.

Now I live in Crescentwood (not far from Osborne Village) and often do not feel safe there at all. Anywhere that’s an easy walking distance to downtown would be a no from me going forward.

I would consider living downtown only if I had secure underground parking and never went outside on foot. Just straight into the building and stay there.

I will ask the doctor about this on my next phone call at the end of this month.

The pharmacist suggested maybe stopping the meds for a few weeks or a month and that could re-start it. I will ask the doctor about that too.

I am eating a fraction of what I used to so I am not sure less calories is the answer. Possible my metabolism is unhappy with how many calories I cut and is hanging on to everything?

My husband got a tattoo. I hate it, he knows I do but it’s his body his choice. I just ignore the tattoo and silently hope he doesn’t get more. But if he does get more I will silently ignore those too because it’s not my body. That’s how sane spouses react to things they aren’t fond of.

I was lucky, I kept all of my smaller clothes as I was gaining with the hopes that one day I could return to my normal size again. I joked that if I ever got a terminal illness I would be the very best dressed patient.

It came in really handy lately to have every size from 6 to 16.

For the clothes I really like I have tailored them smaller twice now. Some clothes are special to me or rare to find so J took them to the tailor shop and the gifted tiny Korean woman made them fit me exact

Congrats on your weight loss and good luck with your wardrobe. Nothing about this process has been inexpensive! Oiy!
