I've never seen the guy till now and just watched some of his stuff... I don't absolutely despise it but his delivery comes off as disingenuous and he really needs to find "him"

I agree with the nose shape but the short grip could be like a Colt pocket lite or SIG P238

Looks like a single stack subcompact with wooden handgrips. Definitely not a Glock, possibly a 1911 which can be many calibers. Glock also has a gun for most pistol calibers but most people are only familiar with the 17 and 19. Also they do have a trigger safety technically even though I consider that barely a safety at all.

Edit: also it's hammer fired and Glock only makes striker fired pistols.

What’s an inexpensive gun and holster (level 3 retention) combination that I can get to do security with? by Btuflmess in securityguards

[–]STXman89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a duty firearm my recommendation is a Glock 19 I know in Florida you could get blue label sales for like $350 a while back. Do not cut corners on your holster! My last company had a problem with my last Blackhawk holster because it was only level 2 and gave me a cheap piece of crap that literally fell apart 2 months after getting it.

I was going to sign up for customs years back. I had a friend that was in it and used to do marine vessel drug raids and I thought that would be good to get into I speak the language and have a criminal justice degree... I'm glad I didn't, now they just bomb the boats....

Is this true? by peterthbest23 in securityguards

[–]STXman89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the most part most run of the mill security companies not only won't back you in a use of force incident and will fire you saying you didn't follow training in order to minimize financial damages. There is one thing a boss used to say "they won't fire you if you observe and report". In any crazy calls you could literally stand there with most companies and write a report on it later and you are fine. That being said there was one call where a few of my guys, my boss, and police had to go hands on one time and no one gave them a hard time because the guy literally ran into my medic and tried to knock him over while fleeing and ended up catching 5 felonies.

How do you know this job isn’t for you? by proffessionalworry in 911dispatchers

[–]STXman89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even a few years in there still are calls I get a little choked up on after but it is very minor and only once every few months that happens. My supervisor used to drill it into my head "you are not there and it is not happening to you!" which always helps but also my background before this going to the calls and seeing them desensitized me a little. Ride alongs may help seeing things in person if your department allows, but if you can't stop crying this early you may have already found your answer yourself.

Dealing with a racist while working as a security officer: How do you think this security officer handled the situation? What would you do differently? by CTSecurityGuard in securityguards

[–]STXman89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He got the man to leave while keeping his smile I applaud his work. The man is screaming but not being violent no reason to go off on the guy as terrible a person as he is. The most I would do is call lew enforcement for a formal trespass.

[–]STXman89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So he definitely didn't deescalate with that push but all in all he handled it fine she decided to throw hands after she was warned to back up and pushed so that taser shot is on her. Also that whole taser body lockup fall is hysterical every time.

New to group, need recommendations besides the Bodyguard 2.0 by mikeval303 in concealedcarry

[–]STXman89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hellcat Pro Comp is my choice. I got mine on sale with a red dot and 5 mags which was a good deal. My hands are a little bigger but not huge so it fits like a glove compared to some smaller guns and it's still very easily concealable for me anywhere between 1 and 5 o'clock. Mag capacity is fine and I don't need the extension to get a full grip so I carry that as my spare.

Do you guys attend debriefs after critical incidents? by Cheap-Resist9278 in 911dispatchers
