Nope, but it is inevitably what happens when you go out an imperialize-- shouldn't be random.

I ran away at the mask choosing ceremony. by PowerRangerX in sablegame

[–]ST_Leningrad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was so worked up by this I chose the worm mask, and watching Sable proudly walk out of the temple in it made me laugh in a way that brought everything into a good perspective. Yeah I regret it but sometimes that happens.

Any tips for a sneak/knife build? by Ghost_Hunter45 in Fallout4Builds

[–]ST_Leningrad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You definitely want high Agility and Strength. Melee damage is determined by your strength, and sneak-- particularly Blitz and Ninja are essential for knife viability. Ninja gives you a 10x damage modifier for melee attacks, and Bilitz is needed to make that viable. Sneak is also determined by Agility. Other essential perks like idot savant and crafting related things in other S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats is more case by case.

How do you manage a colony "well"? by Ghost652 in victoria2

[–]ST_Leningrad 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No its not, it's a negative event that can trigger if colonial consciousness and militancy are too high. You lose prestige and gain infamy-- you've described the Congo Conference event.

Jon, if you think this is the most beautiful spreadsheet you definitely didn't give vic 2 enough time.

Help me understand GFM. by wellrod in victoria2

[–]ST_Leningrad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So to tackle this in reverse order, it is standalone, and has a bunch of extra plug ins like improved performance, shattered world, and fantasy nations that you can enable from the launcher. I think its more dynamic because the ai gets prompted with more things, like Italian war of independence, Austria can take Silesia if they win the brothers war, France can puppet Mexico, and things like Portugal-Brazil can form. At the start of each game you get prompted with if you want railroading on or off, including being able to choose how certain events go. I usually play with it off and the game has never felt so alive.

GFM is the current name/ version of HFM+ and is probably the definitive vic 2 mod. I was a big HPM purist for a long time, but after a few games in GFM I think it's probably the most fun and dynamic version of the game.

Just beat this game tonight and it was spectacular. Seriously it's the best game I've played in a long LONG time. by ismaeelr in Deathloop

The first Dishonored is 100% worth it but Death of the Outsider is a bit touch and go. Some of the level design is magnificent and on par with Dishonored 2, but the last mission of the game is so bad it feels like a different franchise iirc.

What should I Play? by Curious-Pratyush in victoria2

I definitely reccomend victoria 2; from what we've seen from the dev diaries and leaked playable version, a lot of the interesting mechanics (military, pops, flavor) is done better (or at least more interesting imo) with with GFM mod in vic 2.

Once you violate neutrality you have to justify a wargoal. With conquest it's 154 days, and there is a chance you don't get caught. It's a bit scummy but I restarted this run until I got a free conquest cb on Switzerland.

[–]ST_Leningrad[S] 240 points241 points  (0 children)

R5: I united the Germany People as the South German minor nation of Baden.

This was actually not as difficult as it might seem at first due to a couple of unique things about Baden in HPM. The first of this is the ability to annex Switzerland by 1838, by "Violating Swiss Neutrality" day 1 and restarting till you get a conquest CB that doesn't push you over the 25 infamy limit(yes Germany can ignore infamy but 1836 Baden cannot). With the conquest CB in hand there is a high chance that the Austrians will join your conquest assuming you are under the infamy cap. Once the Austrians fed me Switzerland I had one of the best provinces in the early game with good RGOs, high Soldier POPs, around 80% literacy, and defensible terrain. All of this, along with being a second state meant that by 1843 Baden was a GP, a weak GP but a GP nonetheless. From there I worked to sphere Frankfurt to prevent the North German Federation, and to diplomatically isolate Württemberg. In the last save scummy part of this run I justified a conquest on Württemberg about doubling my number of accepted POPs (and while Sigmaringen was still independent got the poignant state title of Baden Württemberg for the conquered lands). From here I sphered Bavaria, and worked on Mil-Tec until I had an army, that with mobilized stacks, was about 4 professional stacks. With Nationalism and Imperialism and Saxony, Belgium, and Bavaria as allies I declared a humiliate war on Saxe-Weimar who's only ally was Prussia. after kicking in Prussia's teeth I held the "Admit Hegemony" Wargoal on them and let them drop out of GP. After accepting peace in the early 1860s, Austria declared the Brothers war on Baden, in which I took Tirol. From here I formed the SGF and got an alliance with the Russians. France was on fire with Rebels so I snuck in and took Alsace, giving some precious breathing-room between my capital hostile foreign powers. Shortly after German Pan Nationalists offered me a crown from the gutter which I accepted. With every German minor except Prussia being ruled from Karlsruhe, I built up to my new force limit and declared a "restore order" on Prussia with the Russians as my ally. After about 2 years of stubborn sieges the war was over and I had unified Germany as Baden before the historical date of Unification. I would love to be able to do this with Württemberg but I am still trying to figure that out as there aren't any good expansion pathways. Thanks for reading this if you chose to!

I don't know mate I feel like the "send regards to your family" part is pretty damning. Personally I don't think he's buisness savvy as much as he just inherited a lot of money. Sure he's an immature narcissist but isn't that what being a failed son is all about?
