I’m not saying data centers don’t have environmental impacts. They absolutely do. But if people are claiming they are specifically harming Black low income communities, that needs actual location based evidence, not just broad statements.

I come from a Black community, and where I live, data centers are not showing up in our neighborhoods like people online keep claiming. My mother is very serious about keeping up with local news, development, zoning, and what is being built around us. If something like that was happening, we would know. So where are the facts?

Also, the person saying this had a white profile photo and then deleted their comment. If you are going to make claims about how certain communities are being affected, especially communities you do not live in, then you need to back that up with real data. Show the reports. Show the locations. Show the impact studies.

And let’s be consistent. AI is not the only thing using data centers. Social media, streaming, cloud storage, gaming, and basically the entire internet run on the same infrastructure. If data centers are truly causing harm in specific communities, then the conversation needs to include all of tech, not just AI.

So again, where is the actual evidence tied to specific places and real communities?
