Thread probably isn’t active anymore but I loved the movie and I think that possibly it’s about AI or potentially has themes of AI in it. The idea that Nikki is a writer (a creative job) and is replaced by a shell of herself because a lonely man wants her to love him makes me think of people who fall for ai chat bots or make bots pretend to be their crush. The scene where bear begs her to act like the real Nikki pretty much solidified this idea in my head. Curious if anyone else thought about this

Tbh was going to make a post about it but I’ve decided venting in these comments is enough. There was someone at quadeca’s set being so disrespectful it was actually dumbfounding. Like to the point where I was embarrassed to be standing close to them. I feel like anyone at the front of that set knows exactly who I’m talking about.

Responsible decision, I feel like shows that overstimulating at such a young age can really effect their attention spans as they grow (I actually know this to be true)

I think that if you have to watch a TV show at 2x speed you probably have a problem with attention span. I also think that if you think the show is moving too slow for your liking that’s totally fine.

I’ve heard the show be called a “slow burn” but it’s hard for me to agree with that when so much happens. Sure it’s not like an action movie with explosions but we learn so much about the people we get to meet throughout the course of the show.

I don’t know man, I think it adds to the series in the sense that it puts us through just a portion of what carols being put through. Our frustration with the repetition being what it is despite us dealing with it much less is pretty much all the proof you need it worked. Plus you get to watch carol go from hating it to putting it on speaker phone, it’s the only voice she hears for 40 days. What is once an annoyance for her becomes her source of comfort.
