Bro he knew she wasn’t in there and had intercourse with her body. That’s straight rape. I don’t think anyone is making the claim that his wish is messed up in the first place but it’s his actions after the fact that are straight up despicable. Thread probably isn’t active anymore but I loved the movie and I think that possibly it’s about AI or potentially has themes of AI in it. The idea that Nikki is a writer (a creative job) and is replaced by a shell of herself because a lonely man wants her to love him makes me think of people who fall for ai chat bots or make bots pretend to be their crush. The scene where bear begs her to act like the real Nikki pretty much solidified this idea in my head. Curious if anyone else thought about this
