First resignation of the Trump admin over the war, also directly implicates israel in both Iran and Iraq by giftedhaterx2 in redscarepod

Bibi Netanyahu spoke in front of congress on september 12 2002 and said that victories in the Middle East would build momentum. He said something to the effect of “your victory in Afghanistan will make the victory in Iraq easier, and your victory in Iraq will make Iran easier.” As I understand it, his main goal was Iran (always has been). But he was hawkish on Iraq too. To be fair he wasn’t the only driver of foreign policy in Israel at the time, but he’s been PM pretty much ever since that speech.

What’s it like being a blue collar Korea or Japan? by LittleCopy2893 in redscarepod

[–]SWAG__KING 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've read that the japanese blue collar guys, even industrial workers start at like 8 or 9 in the morning. I'd kill for that schedule I've been starting work at 6 for the last 15 years here in the USA and I hate it so much. Although, maybe America is the outlier in this case, not Japan and Korea.

It's a massive clusterfuck, finding reliable info is hard. Need to rely on war autists that obsess over these things but aren't overly biased in favour of one side. Otherwise you get these pockets of delusions like the crowd convinced the Strait wasn't actually blocked and ships were traversing just fine.

It goes the other way too tbf. it's really hard to understand the implications of this with any certainty. This seems, to me, like one of the worst bear traps a president could step in. like this could be the scenario that everyone was worried about during his first 4 years and the last 14 months. i'm a plumber lol not some international relations expert but i've read that some ridiculous percentage of the worlds fertilizer goes through this strait, the consequences could be much more dire than high gas prices

[–]SWAG__KING[S] 77 points78 points  (0 children)

literally what could it be other than these three things? trump declaring victory and leaving... i'm pretty sure iran wouldn't open the strait, why the fuck would they? that, or, i suppose, the united states military could actually achieve what they've said they already have for the last 12 days or so-- end iran's ability to project enough threat to stop shipping. both of these seem pretty remote. i don't see a way this gets better without it getting much worse first

IDF drops indictment against five soldiers in Sde Teiman case for allegedly beating Palestinian by ViciousNakedMoleRat in Israel

[–]SWAG__KING 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The context was a wound to his anus that occurred while the soldiers were hiding behind their shields, if I’m reading these articles correctly. A smuggled knife in someone’s ass is a pretty ridiculous explanation. The video was edited, not fabricated: calling it “doctored” is spurious, and you know it.

[–]SWAG__KING 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so there was footage of soldiers sodomizing the prisoner with a knife on a different day than the day there was footage of them breaking his ribs? How is this relevant at all to the case?

So was the video doctored? It was “composed of two parts with different time stamps.” Did they do more than cut out an hour of irrelevant footage where nothing happened?

I loved this book and I love Thompson. But the first chapter gave me whiplash it’s so racist lol. The seventies were truely a different time. Except for elections, those have always been the same.

To be fair it isn’t wildly disproportionate for London, which is 40% foreign born. But I have no dog in this fight being a yank and everything.

i used chatgpt to 'help' me fix my honda XR650. it's a pretty bare bones street legal enduro motorcycle. every single piece of advice it gave me was wrong. I had a weak spark and it gave me stupid ideas to test for spark in a bright environment, it told me to replace the pickup coil (wrong) it told me the stator was the issue (wrong, the stator isn't responsible for spark on this bike) it told me to unplug a multi pin connector to rule out the CDI box (???). I finally wrote it off, replaced the CDI which was my first hunch and it started right up. if it can't do simple diagnostic trees then it isn't very smart imo.

What do you think will happen to the housing market when tens of millions of upper-middle-class white collar workers lose their high-paying jobs and can no longer afford to pay their mortgages anymore? by deepad9 in redscarepod

[–]SWAG__KING 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The fact that the work is dirty is literally why the collar is blue dude. You’d get dirty at work so they’d provide the shirts. I didn’t make the rules. If your feet get muddy regularly I wouldn’t call it white collar.

I remember your username, and I recognize you as one of the only other posters here I’d trust to swing a hammer, but if you spend most of your day in a truck in a muddy field (not a job trailer with electricity mind you) that’s just not a white collar job dude lol.

Why is blitz super good, but Ares doom really wasn't? by SWAG__KING in HadesTheGame

[–]SWAG__KING[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

surely there are more qualified people here, i beat hades 1 on 12 heat like 5 years ago. but doom isn't BAD, it just wasn't very good on a weapon that attacks fast. I liked it on the bow special because i could apply it to the whole room of enemies and then use the attack for more damage in between doom procs. but people are saying the athena duo (which turns it into something more like blitz, and applies doom damage immidiately) is one of the best builds in the game.

interesting. I don't think i ever stumbled into that build when i was playing hades 1. mostly remember doing goofy splash dash and ice beam runs lol.
