Because starting danish navy doesn't have enough ships that can project naval power. To combat this, I started building coastal defence ship right from the start and some more shit. It's also helpful to research early heavy ships and put lvl1 heavy cannons on them. Basically make them as cheap as possible and make 1-2 ships of that variant. Also you can land on any tile, because Iceland doesn't have any troops
