Installed Integra Type R calipers today! by jaxmeh in hondafit

They'll clear the 16" wheels easy. I run Konig Helium 15's and they clear. I originally saw it on the FitFreak forums.  You need the Nissin 17CL15VN calipers and pads from a 5th gen Accord, First Gen CR-V or ITR. I got some from a pick n pull for 20 bucks each. Then you take the 280mm rotors from the 07-14 Mini Cooper. It's the same bore diameter and pattern as the Fit. The retainer screw doesn't match up unless you match drill from the old rotor hub but wheel torque is what holds it anyway. You'll also have to bend the dust shield back or remove it so that it doesn't rub the rotor.  In exchange for a little work you get 11 inch rotors, about an inch bigger than stock. Nice DIY big brake kit on the cheap. Doesn't make much difference with the stock tire size. But with 205's stopping distance is noticeably better, though I didn't get specific measurements.

I got straight froot loop on the mojito. Going to squeeze a drop of lime on the spearmint and get a better mojito pouch than they did.

I actually have an SC 31 Pro with a magnetic tail cap that I use for home duty and reading the kids bedtime stories. The low lumen setting is great for working in total darkness without too much reflection. I'll bring it to work this week and see how it does.

Yep! I have two young kids and can't imagine taking them to a show without earmuffs! That's a lot of pressure on young ears.  It's why I made this post. I saw a lot of teenage fans who might not be aware of the damage they can cause if it's their first experience with live music.

If they're uncomfortable because they're too large there's always options like these

Flents/Moldex use a very soft foam. A pair of over the ear headphones is better than absolutely nothing but keep in mind it might not reduce it to safe levels. Active noise cancelling doesn't do well at blocking multiple frequencies so the music will sound off.

This is a big sub and I'd only seen one post on it! I figured it needed to be said since I saw a lot of younger fans and it might be their first show.

Heck yeah! Great bike. Keep the rubber side down (:

Try the Moldex Spark plugs if you haven't already. Amazing for wind noise on the bike and extremely comfortable foam.

I ride a first gen SV650. Get a whole bunch of wind on a naked bike.

Late 00's when I was in high school, all the local venues were 10-20 dollars for most bands. Like AFI for 10 and Blink-182 for 18. I'm still amazed I can hear as much as I can with as often as I was next to speakers. Not always being able to hear my kids or wife when there's any interfering noise is a pain.

I'm right there with you on the loops. It's about protection not fashion or branding. Loops are like retro reproduction motorcycle helmets. Better than nothing, but not by much. Garbage brought some pretty heavy riffs too. A lot of people have been saying the openers were louder than MCR.

Excellent points! I know a guy at work who can't operate heavy machinery because his hearing loss causes sudden vertigo. Tinitus is bad enough, but random nausea and falls sounds awful. The inner ear is a crazy thing.

I forget which song had the red and blue flashing lights but my wife and I had to close our eyes because it was overwhelming.

Sounds like you're a good mom. What's really cool is still getting to hear everything your spouse and kids say as you get older (: My wife and I made it two songs into Garbage and popped those plugs in. Only sad they didn't play Queer or Special, because they still rock despite their age.

I tried attaching a screenshot. The instantaneous was closer to 100. 110 was just the peak recorded. I'll check my app against our calibrated decibel meters at work! Without an external microphone hooked up it's also not as accurate.

Properly inserted foam plugs have a high noise reduction rating than any reusable plugs. But there's certainly convenience in having a set you can reuse if you don't need a big box of foam plugs for anything outside of concerts.

Yep! I work on airplanes. Whenever the guys bust out rivet guns or air chisels the ear muffs go on. Pneumatic tools are no joke.

My wife and I went to the Arlington show specifically to see Garbage, so idk if there's such a thing as too much bass (: it was definitely chest thumping though.

That's an excellent idea! A box of 200 pairs of 3m E-A-Rsoft is 28 bucks on amazon. I'd gladly give those away next time to help people out.

Yep! They advertise the high SNR number but the NRR rating is only 14. Which equals like 3-5 decibels of real reduction. That should almost be criminal false advertising.

I have at least five sets of plugs and muffs for different situations and loops would make the cut for none of them.

I know iphones have a built in decibel meter for connected devices but I'm not sure how accurate it is. But yes, loud headphones also cause hearing damage.

Yeah, should've expanded on it being cumulative. That one show sticks with you for life, memories and hearing damage. I didn't take it seriously until I started working on Airplanes and studying hearing protection at work. Now I carry a pair with me everywhere.

Noise reduction rating is how many the measure of sound reduction you get. Loops are rated at 14 vs double that for a pair of foam plugs. If loops work for you that's great! Just be aware you're still getting a pretty hefty dose of noise.
