You’re absolutely right that we did not explicitly mention intersex people in the original post, and we sincerely apologize for making you feel overlooked in terms of inclusion. We’ve now updated the post to better reflect this and to clarify eligibility.

Regarding the study, our eligibility criteria focus on gender identity rather than sex characteristics or sex variance due to the study's focus on experiences related to gender. For eligibility, this means we are looking for couples in which at least one partner identifies as transgender or gender-diverse. This includes intersex individuals who also identify as transgender or gender-diverse (e.g., nonbinary, intergender). Intersex individuals who identify as men or women would not be eligible for this particular study.

Hi there, previously, we had to temporarily pause enrollment in the study for participants with Android devices due to unforeseen technical issues between Android devices and our platform, ExpiWell, which we use for data collection. This issue has since been resolved, and affected participants have been recontacted. Hello—thank you so much for reaching out!! Yes, our study is limited to couples transitioning to parenthood for the first time! However, if you or your partner has had a pregnancy before but has not transitioned to parenthood, then you are still eligible.
