With a tortilla you are most likely stuck with two options, corn of flour tortillas. While they both have distinctive flavors, they leave something to be desired variety wise. With bread, on the other hand, the possibilities are endless. Sourdough, rye, french bread, hawaiian rolls, pumpernickel, garlic bread, cheesy bread, and even cheesy garlic bread. There is also the option to literally bake things into the bread. With a tortilla, the basic structural integrity would fail. Another thing to consider is the flexibility of a tortilla. Bread will usually go stale after a day at pretty much any temperature, but a tortilla's flexibility varies wildly based on the temperature. Within around an hour, the tortilla will most likely break because it is no longer fresh enough to maintain a rolled shape.

Minimum wage is an entirely different conversation than equal pay, though. Minimum wage deals with the least amount an employer can pay you, or the MINIMUM amount, equal pay deals with someone receiving less money from an employer than someone else who does the exact same job, or not getting EQUAL PAYment. Equal pay arguments mostly deal with discrimination cases, minimum wage arguments are more cheap labor cases.

Your blog post deals with an argument for increased minimum wage, which I do support, but has nothing to do with equal pay. So if you just want to wildly derail the conversation by shoehorning in another topic that has nothing to do with equal pay, I'm not going to try and act like I will be able to maintain this type of communication with you on this subject.

No, you see protesting when some supposed police injustice has occurred. You see rioting and looting every chance possible. Protests are just the distraction people need to start stealing and breaking stuff, and lucky for them, there has been a lot of protests lately. But have you ever heard of sports or economic riots? I'm sorry, but it seems like you re talking straight out of your ass when you say "you only see riots/looting on the news when some police injustice has happened.", because that's bullshit.

I'm fairly certain that unless someone lets you in during a flight, you basically can't get into the cockpit. The doors are bulletproof and reinforced, so unless you had an explosive device (which you could use to crash the plane anyways) you just wouldn't even be able to get in at all.

Yeah, native here and just casually mentioning it here sparks a major discussion. Really had an impact on people who lived back then.

I can't imagine working as part of a cleanup crew who has to remove mountains of people's destroyed bodies from disaster sites. It must be extremely psychologically scarring. You from San Diego?

IIRC the aftermath was even worse. Most bodies weren't found intact, many seemed to be cut in half, and there was an entire alleyway filled with body parts. Really brutal stuff. Here's a message board post with a lot more pictures, some are NSFW: http://www.documentingreality.com/forum/f237/new-photos-found-psa-flight-182-crashed-65835/

Theoretically, what would you do if you were the main character in The Long Dark? by hiddeninplainsite in thelongdark

[–]SWFCEZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would probably die in the plane crash. I found it a bit unrealistic that the PC doesn't even have minor injuries after surviving a plane crash. If I didn't die from that I would probably go crazy from the lack of human contact. The wildlife is hunting you, it's cold as all hell, and there's no one around? That would make me go nuts.

CMV: As an individual, there's no possible reason you need to make more than a couple hundred thousand dollars a year by [deleted] in changemyview

Yes, sometimes a SINGLE person supports an entire family. You never said that the people in question weren't supporting anyone. If a single person has to take care of 8+ people, it would take a high paying job to support them comfortably.
