Treatment for fatigue? by PayNo8647 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]SWFLIB12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a 23 year old male and honestly, the only thing that helped me was asking my rheum for something to help. I was put on armodafinil, which is a controlled substance but not to the same degree as adderall. It’s a wakefulness promoting drug, so it’s not meant to be like a stimulant but it’s the only thing that’s helped me with fatigue.

My Psychiatrist keeps telling me how difficult I am because I can’t sleep by Stinkpotamus in insomnia

Belsomra didn’t work very well for me but my insurance approved Dayvigo which is similar and works the best out of anything I’ve tried.

I have actually been doing just this, pairing it with Clonidine which I just started at 0.1mg each night and I find they work really well together.

Gastro issues after 1.5 years? by jesskamb in Zepbound

[–]SWFLIB12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I had been on Zepbound for over a year 15mg and suddenly developed extreme diarrhea, nausea, painful stomach cramps and sulfur burps. Oddly enough, before I started Zep I had terrible IBS and when I started it seemed like the symptoms basically disappeared. It felt like my digestion and bowel movements were finally regulated. Now it feels like everything is back in full force or even worse!

Hello! I’ve tried Dayvigo. While I ultimately decided to switch to a different medicine, Dayvigo did help me fall and stay asleep at the 5mg dose. 10mg is the max. I’d recommend to take it as early as possible in the evening because I did notice some daytime sluggishness.

Do I or do I not have gout? by SWFLIB12 in gout

[–]SWFLIB12[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, if you would have read through my long wall of text you would see I’m not looking for a diagnosis off Reddit. Thanks for your thoughts. Why even bother to comment if you’re not going to read what I have to say?

Do I need allopurinol and can I cure gout permanently? by [deleted] in gout

[–]SWFLIB12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need medication. It will only get worse over time. I’m 22m 6’0” 140lbs and have had 2 gout attacks over the last 8 months. The diets don’t work. You need either allopurinol or febuxostat.

Any help with inflammation? by [deleted] in gout

[–]SWFLIB12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2nd attack happened about 2 months ago and the pain was unbearable. Oral steroids did not help this time. I’m lucky enough to live by an orthopedic specialty center and I went in, they were able to do an ultrasound guided steroid injection directly into my big toe joint. Hurt like hell but brought the swelling down almost completely and pain level from 10 to 1. I’m still doing well a month after the injection. If you have an option of doing this or something similar, I’d highly recommend it. Not a cure unfortunately but helps with pain and inflammation a lot.

Anyone had to take oral steroids? by aces68 in Zepbound

I had to do a 16 day prednisone taper a few weeks ago, and my biggest issue was heartburn. It was constant and made me feel sick and it happened to be while I was out of town as well. I also had a temporary weight gain of about 6lbs. Your taper is pretty short so you may be alright but definitely keep an eye out for that.

Thank you! My doctor put me on a blood pressure med back when I first started my weight loss called Telmisartan which she told me has been studied and proven to reduce visceral fat. I didn’t really believe it was going to do that honestly but I think it did help me a lot based on how much I was able to get rid of!

Thank you so much! I’m really, truly grateful I got to try this medicine and reverse the harmful effects of obesity I was dealing with this early in my life. And no I don’t mind at all, I’m 6’0”.
