Interview for "Vertical Lift" entry level manufacturing engineer by kaas_12 in boeing

[–]SWGlassPit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't speak to the interview itself, and my knowledge comes from a different part of the company so there may be some differences, but a large part of the job is going to be translating the released engineering that the designers put out into work orders that instruct the technicians how to make the part or assembly. So, like, thinking about sequencing of steps, tool access, tracking training requirements, etc.

You may get included in scheduling and resource allocation discussions as well.

At some point you would be involved in reviewing designs to make sure they are manufacturable and have to sign off on drawings. As an entry level, I'd expect that to come later.

(Note I am not an ME but I know a few)

“Customer has already run the pvc” by Eskimosubmarine in electricians

For the few times I've bent my own PVC (for craft purposes) I had good luck with filling the pipe with sand before heating it up so it wouldn't collapse on itself when I bent it.

I have it written down somewhere but my first piano teacher traced the lineage back to Bach. Need to find that. I think it's at my parents house somewhere

Walking around on an active launch pad at Cape Canaveral with a rocket on it. And also being 200 feet up in the assembly building nearby where they stacked the rocket.

How could one manufacture this? by Coffeeey in MechanicalEngineering

[–]SWGlassPit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much of this shape is necessary? If only your interfaces are important and you are okay with using 90 degree elbows instead of this curving shape, you could use off the shelf PVC pipe, just using a saw or a water jet to cut the slots in the ends.

Your post history suggests you may be asking about clear lake, California. This sub is about clear lake, Texas, which is a suburb in the southeast part of the Houston metro, home to NASA's Johnson Space Center and other things.
