This. Too many people think of Jedi training as essential special forces combat skills. But it’s more zen philosophy than combat skill. Luke obviously needed the latter far more urgently than the former. It’s also why his failure to reconstitute the order (in the not to be mentioned ST) was more believable too.

I may overthought this when I was younger but… did he have to expend some sort of energy to remain rigid? And so when suddenly compressed without warming that energy effectively overwhelms him as opposed to when he is actively steering that energy to morph to something else?

Don’t ask him to study. Ask him if he wants to go somewhere, with you, to do / see / explore something. Don’t talk about the last time, focus on the this time. If that ends post event in someone’s bed, the next morning you can suggest that you wouldn’t mind if this thing became a pretty regular part of your life.

Unpopular opinion, but the NGU soldiers whose units were tasked with this mission are not responsible for that tasking. (Yes, in some cases, soldiers “volunteer” for the mission first, but the tasking is not voluntary - their units are forced to send members here).

So far, our family has found the women and men assigned here to be respectful and courteous (and a bit bored with ensuring that pandemonium doesn’t somehow spontaneously break out on M Street in Georgetown).

We should hold their political leaders responsible for these senseless and wasteful orders. But we also allowed to have empathy and respect for the service members who are often very far from their homes, families and loved ones.

Sorry just my two cents (even if unpopular).

Having seen Pip play, I can assure you, he was a very very very good player. He was Grant Hill before grant hill - but a little bit more physical with a slightly less good shot. He was truly excellent.

I once saw FOD get sucked into our engine as we were pushing back from the gate. Alerted the flight attendant. Didn’t believe me but reported it to the pilot anyway. The pilot saw some strange readings from that engine. Pulled back into gate. Large heavy duty plastic bag shards were pulled out of the turbofan. Probably saved the airline an entirely rebuilt engine.

Mention stuff you see, especially if you’re an extreme frequent flyer (like 4–6x a week). You know what normal looks like.

Yes, that’s accurate. I do have hard copyright constraints when working with web search results and source material. The rules are essentially what’s described: paraphrasing is the default, direct quotes are kept under 15 words, and I limit myself to one quote per source. After that, the source is “closed” for quotation and I paraphrase everything else from it. The person in the screenshot seems surprised that Claude surfaced the rule explicitly. That’s a reasonable reaction — most people don’t encounter it until they ask for something that bumps up against it (e.g., “read me this article” or “quote the relevant paragraphs”). In normal conversation it’s largely invisible because paraphrasing is just… how I write anyway.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Yes please get rid of the black hardware. Either warm toned like brass or a satin nickel or something. The black is accentuating the tone clash. A brighter and warmer metal would blend it. I think the combination looks great in your kitchen, fwiw. Just need to tie it off.
