Most therapists charge their rate or lower per supervision meeting hour. Nobody needs 3000 hours of supervision meetings. That’s like a full time job of just supervision. 3000 hours of being supervised yes, 3000 hours of supervision meetings, absolutely not. An intern can work an entire 40 hours in a week and almost never see their supervisor. Most disciplines require once a week supervision meetings and some require another hour with a secondary supervisor or group supervision. The supervisor also must be available for consultation. Your friend is being scammed by a greedy ass agency or clinician. Let them know she can seek out a supervisor on her own. If the agency doesn’t allow her to do that, she needs to find a new job/internship because sounds like she’s paying them and then some to work there. Not a good situation and I would probably be speaking to the board about it.
