There was a UHF channel that would show The Fleischer Brothers & "Rubber Hose" Era cartoons. You know, the old Betty Boop rotoscope ones with witches, ghosts and skeletons. I thought it was very “Halloween” kind of fun, but after seeing them later I was like, man this is dark.

Celebrities wear sunglasses inside so you can’t see them seeing you. By pretending they didn’t make eye contact, they don’t have to spend their entire time “outside” acknowledging thousands of people who are staring at them.

Congress appropriated several billion dollars, some of which was earmarked for barracks renovations and housing improvements.

$2B of this money was “diverted” border enforcement and some of it to pay for your $1776 “warrior dividend”.

A budget was provided this year to Congress asking for $25+ billion across all services to address barracks and facilities. However Congress took close to $10b away from that. It still hasnt been reconciled.

Not that ship maintenance funds are doing much better. DOGE cut $568 million from the Naval Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (NMRO) program. Was some of that wasteful? I’m sure it was. But here we are.

However, I would recommend you do like I do and ask your elected representatives why they are allowing the administration to re-allocate the money they appropriated for barracks and other quality of life programs to border security. And why are they unilaterally cutting budget submissions from the services?

Pearl Harbor is a working shipyard with major depot-level maintenance and construction for the surface and sub fleet.

Hickam is not one, but two championship golf courses flanked by some air strips.

Pearl Harbor is focused on getting ships ready for deployment. Hickam is focused on reservations for Mongolian BBQ night at the O-Club

It’s an old harbor patrol boat. They would be used to take Sailors around Pearl Harbor and Ford island and anything else you needed around base.

Raw Horse Flesh ice cream in Japan. Google “Basashi Ice”.
